Warner Music, home to artists like Green Day and Puff Daddy, has done a deal with online music retailer 7digital that will see music fans able to download albums for just £5.
The deal initially offers music fans 150 of the most popular albums on the Warner record label for download at a price which undercuts Apple's iTunes by £3.
The two partners hope to win business from music fans who do not own an iPod player - iTunes downloads include an embedded security feature (Digital Rights Management) which restricts playback to the iPod.
