Transgressive Records have announced that the final date of their Roadshow at Leeds University on November 19th will receive an innovative simulcast on the virtual world website Second Life.
Featuring The Young Knives, The Subways, Larrikin Love, Ladyfuzz, Battle, Foals, Johnny Flynn, Duels and Polytechnic, the Transgressive Roadshow will commence at Manchester’s Warehouse Project on November 17th before moving onto Sheffield’s Plug the following night.
Second Life’s virtual broadcast of the Transgressive Roadshow gig will take place in The Blarney Stone, a pub based in the community’s virtual replica of Dublin. The concept is as straightforward as it is creative. As each band performs in Leeds, their virtual incarnation (consisting of an avatar of each member) will simultaneously play in The Blarney Stone.
Tim Dellow and Toby L, co-founders of Transgressive Records commented: “Transgressive Records has always attempted to transcend boundaries, musically and culturally, and therefore we’re particularly excited to be involved with a crossing of the "real" world to Second Life. Not only does it mean that we can reach a wider audience with our music but it also provides us with an exciting opportunity to attempt to translate the excitement of such an important live event on to the Internet in a fresh and unique manner.”
Dublin in Second Life has become one of the most popular live Music venues since it opened in April 2006. For more information on Dublin in SL, go to www.dublinsl.com.
