Less than 10 weeks after she signed to RCA Label group
singer/songwriter Sandi Thom scored three no 1.s. Her debut single ‘I Wish I
Was a Punk Rocker’ went to the top of both the i-Tunes UK download chart and the UK singles
charts. Her debut album ‘Smile.. it confuses people” climbed to no. 1 in the
album charts, and since release has sold just short of 300,000 copies. This
month sees Sandi travel across the pond to start promoting the release of ‘I
Wish I Was A Punk Rocker’ and ‘Smile.. it confuses people’ in the US. On her
return, Sandi will be playing at various festivals throughout the summer, and
touring the UK

Drawing on a musical palette that varies from Bob Dylan and
Jeff Buckley through Carole King and Stevie Nicks to Stevie Wonder and Aretha
Franklin, Sandi Thom joins the dots between black and white music. Throughout
‘Smile… It Confuses People’ - which was produced in a barn by bandmates Jake
Field and Duncan Thompson – she seamlessly blends folk and soul strains and
influences. ‘Smile… It Confuses People’ is out now on Viking Legacy/RCA.
Sandi’s second single from her #1 selling album will be ‘What If I’m Right’ and
is set to be released on 4th September.
