Forever Begins Tonight heralds the return of Patrizio Buanne, the 28 year-old voice of romance. Monday October 16th will see the release of the Italian singing sensation’s second album. Since his last visit to the UK and the release of his Top 10 debut album The Italian in spring 2005, Patrizio has been busy conquering the world. Selling out headline shows across Europe, Asia, Australia and America, Patrizio has been winning over leagues of fans for his outstanding live shows and countless admirers wherever he goes. The Italian is just about to sell its millionth copy, a major achievement for any artist.
Patrizio is quite simply an entertainer. He was born to entertain and has been doing it all his life. With his individual sense of style, charm, fun and with his rich baritone voice, Patrizio has become something of a unique performer in the modern world of musical entertainment. Inspired by the cool Italian American singers of the 50s and 60s, Patrizio aspires to become a name synonymous with world-class entertainment alongside legendary performers such as Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Tom Jones and Julio Iglesias. It is no coincidence that one such Italian American legend, Tony Bennett, personally insisted that his friends attend Patrizio’s recent US shows.
His concerts are attended by three generations of fans from teenage girls to their parents and grandparents. Everyone is captured by Patrizio’s energy and world class performance on stage. Standing ovations, showers of gifts and queues of fans stretching out of concert halls and around the block for his autograph are now commonplace on tour and it is no surprise that the biggest promoters in the USA and Australia have snapped up Patrizio for long term commitments.
Patrtizio approached the making of his new album with the same unique passion and tireless devotion that he shows on stage.
Forever Begins Tonight is a collection of 12 romantic timeless classics. Recorded over a six-month period in early 2006 the album took shape in London, Vienna, Warsaw and LA. It’s a mix of original tracks along with Patrizio’s take on some of the world’s most famous romantic and classic Italian songs. One of the many standout tracks is Un Angelo (Angels), an Italian version of the Robbie Williams’ classic. Interestingly, this is the first time Robbie has ever allowed a foreign language version of the song. The title track, Forever Begins Tonight is a modern romantic love story that was co-written with Conner Reeves and Patrizio’s musical director Mike Stevens, who is also musical director for Take That and Annie Lennox. Another standout track is Io Che Non Vivo (You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me) originally a smash hit single for Pino Donaggio in 1963 but it is the English language version that became a huge success the following year for Dusty Springfield. This track has sold over 60 million copies since its release and was also sung by one of Patrizio’s heroes Elvis Presley, whose hit Always On My Mind (Vives en mi Corazon) is performed on this album in Spanish, one of six languages that Patrizio speaks and sings fluently.
Patrizio hopes to emulate the success of his national football side this year. Following their World Cup win it’s a great year to be Italian. And Patrizio did his bit for the winning team. His track 'Stand Up For The Champions' was played before and after every game in every stadium throughout the World Cup, including the moment the cup was lifted! More importantly it was also played in the Italian dressing room before each game. It obviously brought the Italians the luck they needed!
On his last trip to the UK Patrizio built quite a following of celebrity fans that included: Tony Bennett, Tom Jones, Robbie Williams, Tony Christie, Gwen Stefani, Beverley Knight, Geri Halliwell, Sven Goran Eriksson, Rolf Harris, Cliff Richard, and if you believe what you read his debut album was on heavy rotation at Buckingham Palace. The Italian has achieved gold sales status in not only the UK but also in 6 other countries. It is platinum in Asia and New Zealand and has gone double platinum in Australia. It has just been released in the USA and is already on its way to gold there too!
As Patrizio fever spreads internationally the UK looks set to fall for the charms of the Italian this autumn. The voice of romance is back
