MC Bashy who for those in the grime scene would of known him from challenging Wiley at Eskimo dance quite a few years back! As well as featuring on SLK tune “North Weezy!”
North-west born and bred, animated who has a freedom of speech who is a talented MC, not for the gun/violence lyrics but contributing to expressing his vivid opinion of the streets. Strongly opinionated on his new single “Black Boys” that has dropped at the right time for Black history month. His viewpoint on the talented black men mentioning the likes of Dizzee, Tim Campbell from the apprentice and even Wiley. Not forgetting his “black diamonds” Keisha White, Shola Ama and Beverly Knight. The chorus sung by up and coming singer Loick Essien sampling the Spinners “ooh child things are gonna get easier…” with a modern flava with Naughty Boy on the production.
As many know it seems as if Grime is becoming too dark and dying out but you got a lot of MC’s amongst Bashy, who are keeping it positive and maintaining to be true to themselves and progressing wisely. Originally he started out in the NW collective Special Delivery but left due to focusing on his solo career. Since then you saw Bashy on loads of Grime DVDs, involved in clashing and featured on tracks. One DVD to date is Lord of Mics 2 where he clashes MC Demon, where there was really no contest. It was totally freestyling from Bashy’s half.
Bashy is an MC who has not received the colossal amount of recognition from the scene, as I see it he is very intelligent and wise with his bars and he brings a lot of his personality in his music.
You can find this track on his new mixtape The Chupa Chup mixtape hosted by Choice Fm DJ Mastersteps, which is a follow-up from his first mixtape Ur mum Vol.1.
