Jarvis Cocker has offered to write Britain's Eurovision song entry next year.
The former Pulp singer claims to want to try and reverse Britain's recent bad fortune in the contest by writing a song himself and it appears that he is not the only one...
UKMusic.com reported last week that rock legend Morrissey also expressed an interest in the contest, and now it seems Jarvis wants a piece of the action too!
During an interview with BBC Five Live, he said:
“I’m not going to compete with Mozzer if he’s going to do it. I’m sure he’ll write something good. The door is always open if they want to ask me. I’ve always wanted to write one for them. Maybe I’ll do it next year.”
Jarvis Cocker has secured a BRITS nomination in the ‘Best Male’ category, but promised their would be no stage invasions this year!
In 1996 Jarvis invaded the stage at the Brit Awards in protest as Michael Jackson perfomed his then-recent hit 'Earth Song' surrounded by worshipping children and a rabbi.
