 The shortlist for this year's BRIT Awards has just been announced and one thing is certain... rockers it's time to lay down the guitars because pop is back!
Reformed boy band Take That, X Factor singer Leona Lewis and flamboyant Mika lead the way with four nominations each.
Take That are up for Best British Group, Best British Live Act, Best British Single and Best British Album for 'Beautiful World'.
Leona Lewis is going for Best British Female, breakthrough, single for 'Bleeding Love' and album for the record-breaking 'Spirit'.
And Mika is up for Best British Male, breakthrough, album for 'Life In Cartoon Motion' and single for 'Grace Kelly'.
Kate Nash, Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs and Mark Ronson were also nominated for an impressive three awards each.
Ged Doherty, Chairman of the BRITs Committee commented:
'One of the best ways in which the British Music industry will meet the challenges it currently faces is with the continued development of great new British acts. The 2008 BRITs nominee list is certainly proof it is delivering these acts - there is some amazing talent here.'
The BRIT Awards will be held at Earls Court in London on 20th February 2008 with confimed performances from Kaiser Chiefs, Kylie, Leona Lewis, Ronson, Mika, Rihanna and Paul McCartney.

The Brit Awards should give a special award to the former top and great 1960's rock band- The Dave Clark Five. From 1964 to 1967 The Dave Clark Five were second only to The Beatles even a few times during those years beat The Beatles. The Dave Clark Five are one of Englands best all time rock bands.!!!!!
