Unsigned artists…it’s your time. London based entertainment company I-Mic are running a national online unsigned talent search, with a massive £30,000 cash prize. The 1-Mic site allows unsigned artists to upload their tracks or videos and campaign their own music to gain votes and rise up the chart.
Each month the sites editor will pick a selection of contestants to have profiles included in posters and flyers with their voting details, and also have their tracks filmed into video indents like this

The 1-Mic online store will launch in January. The site is accessible to the world, so it will give users the chance to spread their names sell their music online.
The competition has two stages leading to the final where the overall winner will win £30,000 cash prize.
Stage 1 - The chart
Stage 1 is online part of the campaign. The entrants crate their own profile, made up of a photo and a track; this is then submitted onto the site. The music is then voted on by the public. At the end of this stage, if your profile manages to stay in the top 100, you gain access to the second stage, ‘The Showdown’.
Stage 2 - The Showdown
The Showdown is televised and will consist of the top 100 highest voted entrants from stage 1. The 100 entrants will audition for the 25 spaces up for grabs to win the all important £30,000 cash prize. These 25 spaces are picked by the 1Mic panel. The 25 entrants selected will perform their tracks and push for the public to vote for them to go through and reach the 10 semi-final spaces up for grabs. Only 5 out of the 10 semi-finalists will go through to the final. Eventually 1-Mic will have an overall winner as well as the very first 1Mic president.
