The music industry finally appears to be embracing the digital era, with a new deal that will enable music fans will be able to "share" tracks legally for the first time.
The move comes after Playlouder licensed acts from SonyBMG, the world’s second largest record label.
Playlouder's service will charge subscribers a monthly fee of £26 for a broadband internet connection and will be able to share as much music as they like at no extra cost.
It is expected that other record labels will follow suit.
