Five Sign Deal With MTV

Channel Five has signed a deal with MTV to broadcast MTV Awards and events for the next two years, including the MTV European Music Awards previously shown by Channel 4 from 2001 to 2004.

The television station will also broadcast the MTV Video Music Awards and MTV Movie Awards later in June and August respectively.

Details on whether broadcasts will be live or follow after the event are still to be confirmed.

The MTV Europe Music Awards will be held in Lisbon this November.
