GTA San Andreas
Grand Theft Auto 3 created the free roaming crime spree genre. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City proved that it could be made into one of the most addictive games of all time. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas proved that Rockstar could make one of the biggest videogames of all time into one of the best. GTA San Andreas is easily one of the biggest game universe ever. Just as Vice City was based on 80’s films like Scarface, the storyline of San Andreas is based loosely based on 1990’s movies like Boyz n the hood by John Singleton. You guide your character CJ as he’s released from prison and returns home to the hood. But his homecoming isn't a happy one--he's returning home because his mother has been killed. And just after he lands he’s set up for murder by corrupt cops.
The rest of the game follows his attempts to survive his return to the streets and eventually carve out a criminal empire for himself.
The game play is very much like that in the previous GTA games, but on a much wider scope. There are even more vehicles to steal, from bicycles to jet planes and everything in between. There is even an RPG element to San Andreas with CJ, as you progress through the game his ability to use weapons and various vehicles increases. And just about everything about CJ is customizable, from his clothes to his hair cut and even down to his weight. And all of these things have in game effects, from how your clothes are received by those on the street, to how your weight affects your ability to run.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is huge: almost six times the size of Vice City and broken into three major metropolises (Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas).

Hitch hiking ain't easy!
All are living places with all the people, traffic and general life that you’d expect in a GTA game. But each of them is totally different and the range of missions and jobs you can do is astounding. San Andreas is like a mini world and you can explore the whole of it as CJ’s story unfolds. Despite it’s size game does a good job of pacing the missions and keeping you informed about what you're supposed to do next.
GTA: San Andreas is perfect for those who love crime dramas, action films, and gangsta rap, the story here is strong and egaging. Thanks to strong voice work and the well chosen 90’s sound track the game captures the 90's like no other experience. GTA: San Andreas is one of the biggest and best games on the PS2 that has yet to be topped on any system.
