Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime is the 3D rendition of the classic Nintendo franchise that blew everyone away upon it's release in 2002. Not only had developers 2nd party developers Retro Studios managed to retain the atmosphere of the 2D sci-fi classic, they had improved upon it, giving it the same level of quality transformation that Zelda had been given by Nintendo. Everything that made the old Metroid Prime games so great has been retained and enhanced in this title.
Samus Aran returns
The story of Samus Aran, intergalactic bounty hunter is 3D first-person adventure game with third-person elements, keeping the 2D ability that Samus had to morph into a ball in order to explore secret areas. And exploration is truly a key element in Metroid Prime, it emphasizes exploration and investigation at least as much as pure action as Samus starts her adventure tracking down Space Pirates.
Her power armour, as well as allowing her to morph, contains a wide array of weapons, which are first lost in the story, then regained and up graded as the adventure continues. The games story is told through not only cut scenes, but also in the descriptions that Samus suit gives the player when switching between combat and scan visors throughout the game. This supplementary way of giving backstory during gameplay allows Metroid Prime to have a deep and engrossing tale that otherwise might not be possible and adds to the atmosphere of the game. Combat in the game is fun,as are the many weapon you get to use, many of which are ued to solve puzzles and explore, just as they did in the 2D Metroid games.
Don't mess with the lady and her large toy
From the amazingly polished gameplay design to the gorgeous visuals and atmospheric soundtrack, Metroid Prime is unquestionably a must-have masterpiece
