Grand Theft IV trailer lands on familiar shores
In the perfect finish to the week Rockstar Games released the highly anticipated first Grand Theft Auto IV trailer.
The trailer, entitled "Things Will Be Different," was released on Friday and uses Rockstar’s shiny new RAGE engine to great effect, showing off the Grand Theft Auto version of New York, Liberty City.
It’s not known yet if it’s being shown on an Xbox360 or a PS3 but the graphics look great, and Rockstar says they’re all in game.
It’s the scope of this one that has us excited. The details on the streets and cars look really intricate and the thought of going through a whole sandbox world that looks and feels like that is an exciting one.
After some great looking sweeps of the Liberty city skyline and locales, including the Statue of Liberty, a version of Times Square and Liberty City waterfronts, we’re introduced to what seems to be the games new protagonist. Standing on what looks to be the waterfront and speaking in a strong Eastern European accent, we hear his voice over saying, “"I've killed people, smuggled people, sold people," before pausing to muse, "perhaps, here things will be different." Given the nature of the Grand Theft series, if the new character is an immigrant looking for a ‘new start’ in America, we’re sure his hope will be very much in vain and players will be able to run amok in Liberty City to their hearts content.
We’re officially excited now.
That’s it for this week, but look out for the UKMusic Top 5 Anticipated PS3 games feature coming soon.
