Too Human
Genre: Third Person Adventure/RPG
Developer: Silicon Knights
Why we all want it:
While Too Human's development may have had more than its fair share of controversy, the game has slowly revealed itself as a stylish looking Diablo-like action adventure RPG. With a Sci-fi premise rooted in Norse mythology, Too Human thrusts you into the role of the cybernetic god Balder, wielding high tech guns and melee weapons and fighting to save humanity from robotic hordes bent on our destruction. From what we know so far Too Human promises compelling storylines, intense action, huge exploration possibilities and weapons galore. (Yes! Precious loot for all!!-Ed) When you combine all that with the prospect of 4 player online co-op, you start to see why we just can’t wait to check out Silicon Knights genre blending title.
Fable 2
Genre: Role Playing Game
Developer: Lionhead
Why we all want it :
Good Old Peter Molyneux! You got to love him, ‘cause he’s a dreamer. Sure, Fable may not have lived up to all the promises he made, but it was still a great game. Returning to the world of Albion 500 years after the first game Fable 2 promises your hero even more good and evil morality life choices. Players become a hero or a villain, depending on your actions, get married, raise a family and shape the fate of mankind. With technology having moved on, you’ll be able to fight with gun powder weapons in Fable 2, as well as swords and magic. But our favourite new addition is your characters faithful AI Dog. Your Dog will follow you everywhere and take on whatever heroic or villainous aspects you do. We can’t wait to have ours become an evil Hell Hound, ready to rip our enemies’ apart at the slightest command! (Good Dog, good boy…no wait… down boy, down! Arrgh !- Ed)
Halo Wars
Genre: Real Time Strategy
Developer: Ensemble Studios
Why we all want it:
The Halo universe is such a rich back drop for a Real Time Strategy game- so it’s hardly surprising the franchise moved in this direction. With the boys at Bungie taking a break from big Halo projects, developer Ensemble Studios, creators of ‘Age of Empires’, have taken point on Halo Wars. Set before the original Halo, Halo Wars will focus on the battles between humanities UNSC and the genocidal Covenant after first contact. We can’t wait to take the generals chair and command iconic Halo vehicles like Warthogs, Tanks, Banshees, Ghosts and Wraths, just to name a few. And then there’s the thought of throwing squads of hulking great Spartans into battle- it just makes us drool!(Steady on you rabid Halo fans!-Ed) If Ensemble can deliver a working RTS control system on the XBox360 pad this could be the game that brings the console RTS genre to the mainstream.
Gears of War 2
Genre: Third Person Shooter
Developer: Epic
Why we all want it:
Everyone knew Gears of War 2 was coming this year-it was inevitable, no matter how cryptic Microsoft pretended to be. We loved Gears of War and we couldn’t be more excited. Marcus Phoenix( Sheeet!!- Ed) and his band of troops return, and their battle to save humanity from the subterranean armies of the Locust, promises to be even bigger, badder and bloodier this time round. All we’ve seen so far is the chainsaw heavy, blood spattered teaser trailer, Duel (Watch him flip that saw and go to town baby!-Ed), but Epic are looking to deliver more of the series classic stop and pop combat, chainsaw duelling and armies of Locust on screen. The anticipation is killing us!!!!
