1: Halo 3
Genre: First Person Shooter
Developed by: Bungie
Why we all NEED it: Halo 3 is Microsoft’s heavy hitter- the competition killer and must have Xbox 360 game of 2007. It’s the follow up to two of the most successfully Xbox games of all time and the conclusion of Bungie’s epic Halo saga.
Some people might like it…….
Wait, who are we kidding? You’re talking about a game that is so sought after it’ll sell TWICE. With the Halo 3 Beta test available on Xbox Live by buying copies of Crackdown, look for that game, regardless of whether it’s any good or not, to fly off the shelf. Now that’s anticipation! And not just because it’s the follow up to Halo 2, from what we’ve seen Halo 3 quite possibly has UKMusic.com Game of the Year- on any system- written all over it.
While concluding the (painfully) unfinished story from Halo 2 is exciting enough, it’s the promise of even better multi-player and matchmaking that keeps us awake at night. It’s a no-brainer to predict Halo 3 will shift a ton of Xbox 360s for Microsoft, or that launch day will again see record numbers of ‘sickies’ pulled off by gamers. (You lot better come in, or they’ll be hell to pay! I mean it!-Ed)
Notable follow ups: This year is looking great for the Xbox 360, and it’s a ride every gamer should jump on if they can. These may be our top five but there are a lot of great titles to get all excited about like Alan Wake, John Woo’s Stranglehold, Guitar Hero 2 (Woo hoo! Mad shredding on the 360!), Virtua Fighter 5 ,Project Gotham Racing 4 and Grand Theft Auto 4 just to name a handful. And maybe if we’re all very good Uncle Bill might get Fable 2 or Halo Wars to us before 2008.
