“We have the tools, we have the talent!”- Winston Zeddemore, Ghostbusters.
It’s one hell of a time to be a gamer- the first year that all 3 consoles of the current generation are out- with a whole host of games to look forward to, some amazing sequels and perhaps more importantly totally new franchises.
Developers claim they’re really looking to flex their muscles on the new generation of systems, with not just with graphical horse power, but game play innovation and ideas. All of which will hopefully make 2007 a hall mark year for gamers across all platforms, as the big 3 consoles fight for hearts, minds and thumbs.
Here UKMUSIC.COM Gaming presents our top five gems for each system due in 2007. Doing a top five has meant focusing on the cream of the crop and while we’ll need to play these games to know their true potential-reviews tell all- for now we’re just sharing what’s got us all stoked up!
So without further ado- The UKMUSIC.COM Gaming Editors top five for 2007 on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.
Xbox 360
The one year ‘veteran’ of the current three way dance, the Xbox 360 already has an impressive library of titles. Great strides have been made by developers in harnessing the machines potential (look no further than Gears of War) and the strength of Xbox Live gives it a unique advantage in the market. Over 10 million customers can’t be wrong, right? It’s easy however, to hold sway when gamers don’t have alternatives but that all changed in December last year as the Wii launched. March and the release of the PS3 will see the truly battle joined in the UK as the last of the competition weighs in. It’s not going to be easy for the XBOX360 to maintain that lead, even with a year’s head start. But Microsoft knows that now is the time to pull out the big guns and they have a hell of an arsenal lined up.
