1: Grand Theft Auto IV
Genre: Third Person Action
Developed by: Rock Star North

Why we all want it: “Perhaps here, things will be different.”
The words uttered by Niko Bellic, the new protagonist of GTA IV sent shiver of anticipation down our collective spines at the end of the recent GTA IV trailer. And now, after being shown a glimpse of the beautiful world of Liberty City, things do seem different. Bigger, better and more detailed than ever before.
The Grand Theft Auto series has always been a flagship series on the Playstation and this newest installment promises to more than deliver. While rumored to be smaller than San Andreas in area, the city in GTA IV will have far more detail, with a good number of seamlessly entered indoor locations. But the sheer it’s the fun of losing yourself in such a detailed sandbox city, with all the freedom and the evolving storyline that traditionally comes with a GTA game, that fills us with such joy. What new vehicles will we be able to drive, what weapons will we use, and what new abilities will we have?
If Rock Stars’ previous installments have shown us anything it’s that the developer always manages to surpass what it’s done before. The saga of our lead character-coming to America from a life of crime in Europe and hoping for a new life but becoming embroiled in Liberty Cities underworld- promises a whole new level of GTA goodness.
We just can’t wait!
Notable follow ups: If all that isn’t enough to get excited about we’ve still got the likes of Ratchet and Clank, Burnout 5, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Lair and the much vaunted Kill Zone 2 to look forward to. There may not be as many games to play on PS3 as we’d like right now, but the flood gates will open later in the year and gamers will want to be there for it.
