Self confessed gaming fanatic and music superstar Pherrell Williams is set to be the host of the massive launch event for Halo 3 on the Xbox 360.
The Neptune star will flying in from the States on the 25th of September to attend the Halo 3 premiere at BFI IMAX centre in London.
The London event will be closed to the public, and the first people to play the game will be a lucky host of VIPs, celebrities and competition winners, as Microsoft pulls out all the stops to celebrate its biggest game of the year.
VIP only events will also be held in Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam and Milan. They will be linked to London via Xbox LIVE as Williams, a massive Halo fan, and other celebrities in each country take each other on for this one-off night where gaming meets partying.
The celebrity red carpet event is just part of a multi-million pound campaign for the final chapter of the Xbox video game series that has created legions of fans worldwide. Pre orders for “Halo 3” have soared past 1.25 million globally as the world holds its breath and awaits the launch of the title in Europe on September 26th. So great is the expected demand for the game that Microsoft is working hard to ensure they’ll be enough copies at launch. They revealed that production of the game disc itself has reached a whooping 81 copies per second!
Eager British fans will be able to get their hands on the new game at midnight as more than 1,000 retail stores across the UK will throw open their doors, allowing gamers to get their hands on the game and join the excitement of what Microsoft is calling the ‘biggest entertainment launch in history.’
