i find the kids who only want crews more annoying.

"whos the best crew from east?" type topics bug me most.

there is more to music than mcs shouting bout guns.

i kno wat u r sayin mark one! i find alot of them aint open minded aswell! wen i post up tracks i get contructive feedback from most but the 4x4 heads always end up posting sum $$$$ about todd edwards and ez!

i find the people who r into breaks, dub step are the most open minded cos we have all come from old skool garage.

i think alot of them blame every 1 who listens 2 grime 4 the disapointing amout of 4x4 and vocal stuff about.

before every 1 cusses me 4 that i kno there are 4x4 heads who do give constructive feedback and are genraly nice! but i think every 1 can see that alot of them have a chip on their sholders!

They're just jealous that almost everything 4/4 coming out these days is garbage.

As for the grime folks, I think they're still finding their voice. The crew thing reminds me of early rap in the US. Hopefully Dizzee's success (and hopefully Wiley, etc. will follow) will change the mentality from fighting to competing.

I'm looking foward to 2004, I wanna see which genre of 'Uk Garage' is gonna take the relay baton. Is it gonna be Grime, 4*4, Sublow, Breakbeat or Foward sounds. I can't wait to see who will dominate for 2004, I wouldn't mind seeing a return, of the 2Step beats, which were rocking dancefloors around 1998.

Whoever comes out stronger, should not be riducled, because that genre is not felt. I don't particularly favour Grime, crews, or Badman Mc's, but from whats's being played at clubs, and on radio, they are a strong force. I might not be feeling the sound that they create, but, recognize they are doing something right in some form , because they have the most record sales, and a high percentage audience listeners.

Uk Garage at the moment is uncontrolable, it's got too many forms, and twists. So who ever is making the most appealing music, and selling the most units, in economic terms, must be the winner. Wether it be 4 Floor, Grime, Techst............................................ ...

i just dont like 8bar and sublo that scene.

i support many styles of garage including dark 4x4, dubstep / breakstep, vocal 4x4 but i hate theese tunes that have arpegiated square wave computer beeps and sound like a spectrum game from the 80's.

I'd love to see a 2-Step revival! I still hear the occasional tune like Body Groove or Tell Me It's Real when out clubbing - makes me think how much of a club scene there was there...

Haha, no worries brov. Just not feeling the recent 4/4 sound. I'd love to see an explosion of upbeat 4/4 stuff I'm feeling -- I'd love to mix it up once in a while and drop that bizniz.

Until then, I'll keep with the stuff I'm feeling.

Thats exactly it mate.It seems to me that some of the Grimey boyz are havivg a bash at the 4/4(take licencse to stomp) and trying to take the grime into it.......it just doesn't sit right does it.

It's a shame tho because there is some wicked 4/4 stuff coming out at the moment both bassline and otherwise....

as for the 4/4 people being moody $$$$$$$s i dont know.

If they're being moody $$$$$$$s, it's probably not without good reason. But at the same time, you're not going to make upbeat music to the best of your ability through having a chip on your shoulder.

Big up the 2-Step sound. They were probably my best years of clubbing. No violence etc just pure vibes

I seem to remember having a convo about this not long ago....

I think it would be great if all these different styles could live in harmony and be played at the same events, so why doesn't it happen? Everytime a track comes out that sounds a little different, it gets pigeonholed as a certain type of sound, and the umbrella of 'the garage sound' gets more and more diluted.

I don't want to go to an event where I only hear sublow music, I don't want to go to an event where I only hear 4/4, I want variety, but I can't think of a regular event within 40 miles of where I live that does this.

And in a way, I think I can occasionally be a grumpy $$$$$$$. The thing that písses me off about 4/4 is when people big up some of the newest tunes, and they're fúckin' terrible, it's as if people aren't making music because they love it and feel it these days, but as if they're doin' it for the kudos releasing a track brings, and that's why these tracks aren't as good as they could be.

So let's have a bit more originality, irrespective of genre.

    Amen.

We're pushing all the UKG sounds together in the same events over here...but we're the only regular UKG events (that I know of, anyway) within 1000 miles. Feast or famine, I guess.
