LOL...I know exactly what Marks talkin about they're are some proper grumpy ones at that forum he mentioned. At the end of the day you gotta be open minded and not let yourself slip into a loop of just subscribing to one particular style of music. I find wiv a fair number of 4x4 headz that they just won't budge on whats good and bad i.e. 4x4 is good and every ting else is just $$$$. Gotta agree tho good new 4x4 releases are scarce at the mo which is a shame coz everyone was raving to these beatz a while ago...I personally think its had its time now and the old guard that were raking it in a few years ago and basically have most influence are too unwilling to move with the times...hence you get peepz being grumpy and shunning Dubstep or Grimey beatz. End of the day I reckon 2004 is the year when the new guard take over!! Dizzee has already made a few waves, I wanna see a Mark One or Plasticman album in HMV now

But why's it got to 'take over'?

I don't agree that all garage-related genres should be played together at events, but why's so much rivalry stirred up between genres? Carry on with that $$$$$$$s and you might as well be on a forum with 12-year-olds saying "nahhh pop is $$$$, it's all about R&B"

Not really mate...the way I see it the 'garage' scene has stood still for too long it needs something fresh to push it to the next level. I dont really see that as 'stirring' anything up, things gotta be pushed fwd...like I say its good to like a mixture of all musics I dont see 4x4 as a rival...but sameways I dont see it progressing too quickly either. I still like 4x4 overall just not feelin the stagnation and all these old skool raves that seem to be on every week...I personally prefer the new skool dubstep/grimey beatz, aint about the same tracks gettin rinsed at every rave.

You're not one of those grumpy 4x4 headz are you? haha

But your idea of a "next level" isn't shared by everyone. What I'm getting at is that it should be thought of as a different level, so there's no particularly 'right' answer...

why u posting dark tunes on rwd forum then?

theres alot of nice produced dark stuff out there, im really feeling horsepower at the moment

people need to open there minds and not worry about names if you feel something just say it, dont worry if its the wrong genre!

big up mark tho, i know what u mean!

Just get on and do your own thing, support the music your feeling, be it garage (4/4, 2-step), forward or grime/sublow.

At the end of the day, there aren't that many 44 heads into any of the other garage offshoots and visa versa.

In the past alot of traditional garage heads were quick to put down the grime/sublow/fwd thing because not much was happening for the 44/2step scene. That has changed now as alot has happened within the last 6 months.

I'm now detecting slight resentment from non 44 heads becuase the music is starting to get big again.
