-------------[Grimy its icy time, get icy its freezing time]---------------
For latest tune IDs, dubz (but its not about what dubz you got its about good music?), forth comings, reminders (old scoolish stuff), todz (all 4/4 massive), drum and bass, tribal beats, up and coming tracks, down tempo broken beats and underground hip hop (I said underground hip hop. Though their pretty rair in the post). Keep it locked to the weekly ICEMAN post every Sunday. Been doing it since nine seven (9 7) and if garage is sinking im going down with it. Heres this weeks selection :---:
0 out of 0 = haven’t heard this yet
0 out of 10 = this is shítter than greasy rhino shizzle
10 out of 10 = MAXIMUM POINTS this whole track was arranged exactly how I would of done it
1) mark one – the virus
so whats this the 3rd or 4th time in a row we have a mark one joint in the post?. Goes out to mark keeping me well informed into what hes up to in the studios. Some of you may know this some of you may not its been around on plate for some time now (nearly a year now aint it Monks?).. The track uses the same sound and a very similar sequence to roni size’s tune (oh shet I mussa forgot the name of it but hol tight). Feeling this ones. It’s a little 4 4 roller to add the collection italist selection. This should be out on contagious. Oh and don’t forget to look out for www.virussyndicate.co.uk people 5 out of 10
2) 4 to the roof (mark 2) – the italist
How can we describe this track?. Well its really different. Its 4 to the floor with some intelligent sounds. The percussion sounds as if its being played live. Feeling this one. No one can ever get this track. The only other way you can get this track is on a white label and that’s if it get released 6 out of 10
3) here we come again – simba
I just came back from a linkage I had earlier (she only lives down the road from monkey). And shes their trying to tell me a message via music. Check it: she’s telling me to listen to the lyrics of that alihya – pick your self up and try again (you remember that Romeo must die tune). So anyway I said:
Iceman: “whats this CD”
Sophie: “oh that’s a garage CD some one gave me”
Iceman: “oh yeah. Put it on”
Sophie: “but you don’t know about garage”
Iceman: “Wohahahahahahhahahahahha no wait wait one more time Wohahahahahahhahahahahha. Just because im listening to your music and telling you I like this and I like that you think I don’t know about garage?. Laugh the funk out loud. PLEASE this “IS” iceman were talking about aint it? Babe I’m a GARAGE veteran from afternoon (sorry I mean morning)”
So anyway here we come again came on and I said:
Iceman: “I gotta go” (home to add this to the weekly ital post)
Sophie: “unless it’s a music call you anit going nowhere”
Iceman: “You know the dilly. Music comes first”
Sophie: “ok then babe call me………….. pl eea s.. e”
Iceman: (raise eyebrows) “lar dar tay” (pootie tang)
This track come out in 2000. I was feeling this track from day one but I didn’t pick it up though. Not too sure if you can get this “again”. With reggae style samples like:
“here we come again”
“duuu bee du duuuuu”
“here we come again”

4) lone catalyst – catalyst files
this isn’t garage for those thinking what the fukkkkkk???!!!!!. Ok goes out to all my underground hip hop crew you might wanna leave a post or mail me about this one. If you’re into slum village and tribe called quests beats or your one of those people who likes hip hop beats before lyrics. May be you should try this one out. It’s a group called the lone catalyst their from the states but on a German record label. Go to HMV and ask them for any of the lone catalyst stuff or ask for j rawles ”NOT” >ja rule (gart damit). But Ill warn you from afternoon, if your one of those hip hop fans who like deep conscious lyrics move to number 5 and don’t bother reading the rest of this part of the post. I think j rawles (the person who produced the whole album) uses some deep sounds in his production. I mean he fusses jazz, blues, ball room music all into his hip hop production. Leave a massage below if you want any more info on these guys or go HMV and buy the following albums entitled the catalyst files or another album by them called hip hop (and that’s got a white cover with them on a stage performing). 5 out of 10
5) iceberg – musical mob
whatt the fukkkkkk k is this bollo(triple x)xxx. Oh my fuknig dayz have these 8 bar lot got nothing to do?. Looks like someone has run out of ideas. This tune is the worst piece of shizzle (that was shít backwards. I had to rewind the record so the under 16s didn’t understand that) ive heard in years. Oh gosh I can’t believe some one actually made this. This is wrong I feel ashamed its pure noise. My sister makes better music blowing down a tree log. Ok so im sloooing the tune down to the Maxwell this doesn’t mean I don’t have respect for the artist. Musical mob have single handily turned the scene on its head and they are the original leaders in this 8 bar era. This ones a dubplate. I guess all you 14 year old trainee rude boyz members of the forum better leave your comments below as your gonna want this REAL BAD 0 out of 10
6) war– bootleg (not Johnny cash)
ok I was meant to put this in last weeks selection but as I said in last weeks post, I got a bit distracted. Theirs a bootleg of war going round on plate and I think I know who done it. But I remain tight lipped about it even though it’s wrong to have done the bootleg I don’t think it would be right to expose what I know especially over the Internet anyway. Johnny’s not very happy about this mystery track and he’s looking to bring this person to justice. When he finds out that is. Oh one last thing look out for war remix too, go get that when your next in your local. 5 out of 10
7) venomless – plastic man
so iceman’s into dark tribal beats. Well how about dark 8 bar. This ones plastic man people. If you’re an 8 bar fan look out for this one. 5 out of 10
8) highland spring – hatcha & Benny hill
ok as the release date for this draws very close ive made it my duty to push this one. WHY? Because its representing my sound. The Tribal sound or as I like to call it ethnic sounds. This ones coming out on tempa (tempa 8). for more info contact Neil @ ammunition or email icecreamman9000@hotmail.com. 6 out of 10
9) you know you wanna – DnD
This one can be dropped in an old school set as it’s down those lines. To make it even more clearer what im trying to say is if I had to put this tune into any of the following categories: old school, dark bass, 8 bar or vocals I would put it in the old school category. This is a heavy track. Uses the same bass DnD bass so theirs no change their but for some reason I really do like this tune. 7 out of 10
10) I love you new mix – dizzee rascal
in response to last weeks question I asked: I know they have nicked theis sample but I don’t know were they got it from. The samples come from an old SWV song.
11) wheres my – adam F
>shakehead< @ iceman. How late am I on this one man. flipping hell man. feeling this one. I like that tone in this tune wicked stuff man. 8 out of 10
12) break it down – morph
right this one came out a while ago and Ill tell you this for free it’s a breaky instrumentalist track which MCs don’t like. I think the main reason why MCs don’t like this tune is because it drowns them out when they try to chat over it. Any how this track reminds me of robots and stuff like that because it has a lot of robotic sounds in it. I think morph should of called this “METAL”. 8 out of 10
13) casino royal – true playaz
this is definitely in the category for best drum and bass tune ever. Very professionally put together with some intellect strings. The only thing is, it kind of drops MAD. It drops like on the 3rd bar or something I can’t remember it’s been a long time. Look out for casino royal mark 2 (with ska on the flip). its not much deferent same sounds just arranged differently. 10 out of 10
14) echo box – brockie
well its been a long time since ive heard from brookie. Check out this one entitled echo box. One thing I like about this tune is the way the drop comes in. its an instant killer and grabs your attention almost immediately. Im feeling the reverb around the bass as well good job brocks. 7 out of 10
