    Default weekly ICEMAN post

Welcome once again to another episode of the weekly ICEMAN post

Due to the sufficient amount of new sounds emerging out of the UK Garage Industry the weekly ICEMAN post have felt the need to categorise or section of the different styles of garage. We are not indicating in any way that any of the artists mentioned in this post produce in particular styles or sounds we know that one artist can create as many tracks in as many styles of Garage. Whether you produce, listen, support, or rave to whatever type of Garage remember the new sounds that emerge out of the scene are progressive!!!!!

IS THAT FÚCKING CLEAR ENOUGH OR DO YOU NEED PICTURES!!!

For latest info and forth coming updates in the following styles ie:

*-> Beats and bass (narrows, oris jay, sirus, bogeyman)
*-> Breaks (ed 209, deekline, DJ mutiny, freq nasty)
*-> Dub step (kode 9, horse power, hatcha, digital mystics, tempa recordings)
*-> Soulful UK garage (phuturistix, landslide, zed bias) >monkey smile<
*-> New old skool hip hop (mf doom, mad lib, peanut butter wolf)

and you MGHIT also catch (now and then)

*-> UK garage (todd Edwards, MJ cole, El-tuth)
*-> Grime/8 bar (big shot, wizbit, slimzee fans etc)

keep it locked every Sunday to the weekly ICEMAN post. Ps look out for the forth coming site coming soon!!!. Iceman message “been doing it since nine seven (9 7)”.

    (afro) - Afromonkey
    (ice) - Iceman

    Artist: oris jay
    Track title: maggie’s fire
Style of music: beat and bass
    Status: established
    Release: Feb. n/a

The master of breaks does it again with similar drum patterns to DK1 underground release un sure.

    Artist: DJ masiya
Track title: cant beat the system
Style of music: beats and bass
    Status: up and coming
    Release: jan feb 2004

Due to be released on dump valve recording early next year this ones already getting hammered by a few rinse DJ’s and DJ principle. With a nicely shaped baseline which jumps in and out of sync to the beat. The beat needs more to it as it only has kick drum snare and hi hats very simplistic good track go grab a copy next year

    Artist: shimano
    Track title: basher
Style of music: beats and bass
    Status: established
    Release: n/a

This unsigned piece of art is by the man who brought you “JAZZ MUSIC” ja jazz. Ok this ones not bad audio will be on the site once its launched keep this track in mind. With its UK garage feeling 4 beats and nasty sub lodic bass line made me think twice

    Artist: scandalous unlimited
    Track title: too loud
Style of music: beats and bass/ breaks
    Status: established
    Release: n/a

Is it too loud are we tooo loud NOOOOOOOOO. What are these guys playing at this track absolutely tears up the place. This is suspected to come out on army recordings but all the management at army seem to be doing is delaying it left twiddling their thumbs with this as an excuse eerr where looking for a B side. Shít I should ask stanza if I can put it out my damn self. With an energietic beat and nicly done envelopes to the bass this track is another class piece of production from stanza and the crew

    Artist: phuckereez
    Track title: still don’t know
    Style of music: hip hop
    Status: up and coming
    Release: n/a

Got some very pro sounds coming from this guy. This track is absolute wicked and once finished I strongly recommend sending a copy of to benji b at 1-xtra

    Artist: shimano
    Track title: gravity
    Style of music: hip hop
    Status: established
    Release: n/a

As drum and bass as his main interest in music I ask shimano to surprise me with something different and this is what he came up with. The production is tight the quality of sounds are very very professional. This guy know a lot about sound and sound engineering and would definitely give DJ narrows sound engineer and good friend of mine morph a run for his money. Audio on forth coming web site

Remember if you have any material you want to send to us mail us at icecreamman9000@hotmail.com. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND CD’s RESEMBLING SUB FUKING LOW OR 8 BAR GET DISSOLVED (we deal with snares NOT fúcking claps !!!).

na not us we dont make beats. beats and bass as we define it used to be the face of garage with tonz of drum and bass producers jumping on the bandwagon to make a quick one so called garage track. people like bogeyman, sirus, zinc, brockie, harry lime, shimano all brought this dark drum and bass sound to garage and was big in 2002 slimzee was the front man in this as well but now the face of garage as we know it today is grime/ 8bar or sub low

we plan to put beats and bass on the map. the sound does exist and our mission is to get it the recognision and hopefully get more people into it

I think theres loads of people in it and it already has a lot of recognistion, I just dont think its gonna be as easy as that to name!!!

No one can really name a style, it will just happen.

'Brockie' and 'Ed Solo' did make a heavy track last year, and to me it was rolling 'Breakbeat'. I would like to see a few more pieces from dem boys, also Zinc needs to return to the style of beats, on the track "Go Dj". The style of Garage I liked most, was 'Zincs' stuff, after "138 Trek". Not forgetting 'Hackney Soilders', "Hold Tight".

dub step at one point i used to have quite a lot of dub step records tempa, benga's dose was one of my favorite tracks.

dub step is a suffisticated sound when you listen to the music properly youll hear some really good creative work. samples from tribal screams like in most of bengas stuff) or wired noises that resemble things for example that wierd noise in hatcha's march resembles an army marching

but on the needle on the energetic scale doesnt do anywhere as much damage as beats and bass. put another way the music doesnt make you wanna bruck out as much beats and bass

I been following Hatcha's sound for sometime now... In the last 6 or 7 months his set has step up to a next gear. I don't know where he gets his music from.... where Digital Mystikz came from but their sound for me has made his set even more unique. Their sound seems to be minimal but up tempo at the same time.. Pathways I think is a prime example of this.

I also feel that the whole fwd>> sound is really changing. I feel it's good. I am hearing fresh innovative music.
