-------------[Grimy its icy time, get icy its freezing time]---------------
For latest tune IDs, dubz (who gives a shet about dubz though?), forth comings, reminders (old scoolish stuff), todz, drum and bass, tribal beats, up and coming tracks, down tempo broken beats and underground hip hop (I said underground hip hop. Though their pretty rair in the post). Keep it locked to the weekly ICEMAN post every Sunday. Been doing it since nine seven (9 7) and if garage is sinking im going down with it. Heres this weeks selection :---:
0 out of 0 = haven’t heard this yet
0 out of 10 = this is shítter than greasy rhino shizzle
10 out of 10 = MAXIMUM POINTS this whole track was arranged exactly how I would of done it
1) mark one – gypo
as we enter this weeks selection we begin with this one gypo by mark one. Gypo is another one of those 8 bar tracks. This track just shows mark one can cature for all types of garage weather 8 bar, tribal, vocal or old school. I think marks trying to keep with the time but at the same time hes experimenting. I mean compare this to turn it up, their two different styles coming from the same person. This ones due out on p records in Jan or Feb. 5 out of 10
2) DJ technics– fingers
so im standing in a music shop ancheus to get my new toy sorry I mean next bit of hardware. Anyway I meet this guy called technics.
Technics - Oh hello
Iceman - Erh
Technics - You make garage?
Iceman - Erm na I make broken beats mate
Technics - Oh, I can see your buying the yamaha RS7000
Iceman - right so you know about this
Technics - Yeah its got some fuking wicked sounds in it
Iceman - Seeen so what do you make
Technics - I make garage I just so happen to have a copy of one of my latest tracks on a tess press you wanna listen
Iceman - Yeah aight. Erm Paul could you link up one of the decks so we can listen to what this guys doing
Hhmm it’s a breakbeat track. Deekline style breaks. Not bad its something different so I took a copy. He’s starting up a record label called cerbus records and this in particular tune should be out next year (some time). Copies have been sent to ammunition, oris jay and jay da flex who are supposed to be pushing it.
Oh PS I think there are too many film effects in the intro and the intro duration is way to long so we will give this a 6 out of 10
3) musical mobroyal – echo man
what the funk?. I guess some one forgot to turn down the slap organ, guitar bass. Not feeling this one my self. Personally I think the bass needs turning down a bit. Erm not too sure the dilly on this one it might be out it might not be 0 out of 10
4) italist – penetrator
iceman - oh shet who remembers this one
blackground crew – oh yeah, boo, brutt bruhh, bow, booma
This one was done in early 2002 and was a bit ahead of its times back then. But now the scene understand dark beats a bit more they might be ready for this. Hhmm with multiple stabs of bass flying towards you I don’t think you can do the matrix and dodge the devil stab baselines flying at you on this one. I don’t think this will get released. Erm hasn’t had to much play by anyone its kind of been forgotten about really. 4 out of 10
5) DEA project vs de front – I like
Now the policy is: to never let gya lem get in between you and the music. Music comes first in every way. Even life or death. If we have to choose between music and our girls life music comes 1st. you cant replace some of the music we have in this room. But on this occasion we broke that rule just for a week. Which means this is good for you guys. Because the girls have been occupying us we haven’t had time to carefully compile this weeks selection to the team standard. So in this weeks post you will get all the old school tune IDs. Thanks to the girlies. On the other hand this tune is heavy out on booby trap recordings back in 98 – 99. easy reaper all Lewisham gang para, krooger if your into old school look out for DJ reaper on Y2k, entice and a few other stations. 7 out of 10
6) demon bass – dark angels
look out for it. 8 out of 10
7) groove cronicals – stone cold
THIS IS the most ground breaking track of all time. Who remember this one?. Oh gosh who remembers the days we used to reload this track 10 times because we just couldn’t believe the tune was so perfect. With a nice piano sequence and a mello sub base. If you missed the repress 4 months ago. You should be pissed. Expect to pay buckz for this tune. 10 out of 10
8) shimano – jazz music VIP
oooooohhhhh. Ok this ones not old school but I just found this lying around in my friends house. Man I gotta big up Wesley on this one boy. if you thought jazz music number one was heavy wait till you hear this. Erm their was a point in time were people like slimzee, ez, tubby useed to hammer this. Doesn’t really get played that much nowadays though. 10 out of 10
9) bogeyman – nasty
ok this was in the weekly ICEMN post 3 weeks ago and I did say I was gonna get back to you in response to weather the phone calls I made were successful or not. Well Ive tried everywhere, all the distributions don’t have it. I asked SARES and she didn’t even give me an answer so your answer Sarah is no essential don’t have magic carpet. Which means blackmarket will have to do their own research if they wont that tune back in the shop again. If anyone has magic carpet for sale or nasty for sale email me with no hesitation icecreamman9000@hotmail.com. But don’t take the fuking piss im only paying 5 maximum for it. 10 out of 10
10) eastwood – unknown
oh shet you know iceman just loves his strings init. Well this is a bassline track that instantly got my attention. This one is done by eastwood. ANOTHER member of the big apple family. Ill get you a tune ID on this one. Its forth coming out oooonnnnnnn……… erm shet I forgot. This track is one of those tribal sounding tracks. So you can why iceman into this one. 10 out of 10
11) T smoove and danny foster – unknown
sound of underground London (S.O.U.L). All the old school veterans sign here. If you know about old school you will know about this. It doesn’t actually say the name of the tune on the record label which is fuking handy isn’t it silly dik headz. I picked this one up back in 98 but It wasn’t the most famus track back then. You just used to be played a lot back then. 5 out of 10
12) narrows – fruit machine
feeling this one. Look out for this on a white label. Apparently their was some sort of confusion with the label design and he just said fuk it well send it out raw. 9 out of 10
13) DJ genius – war games
now ive been going on about this tune for years now. The funny thing is theirs no point saying look out for this because its not even coming out. For more info on the tune contact G at rhythm division in the big bad “GHETTO” of bow (I was being sarcastic). Or alternatively get in touch with dump vale. 6 out of 10
14) phuturistix – 551 blues
oh shet. If your into broken beats or down tempo or left field stuff. You will like this. 551 blues is one of iceman favourites seriously. Seen as millennium have closed down and the phutureistix are hard to find anyway I didn’t even know when this tune got released. You just heard it all of a sudden. If anyone has this track for sale contact icecreamman9000@hotmail.com. Again 5 pound maximum. 10 out of 10
