    we should all boycott 1xtra

cos the BBC paid off the DTI to bust more pirates so that they could have more control over the urban music radio scene.

thats why a lot of stations have gone down recently

    Boycott them, boycott them!

before anyone starts a boycott let's see hard evidence cause i know a lot of people have been speculating re: this, however i do not believe it for one second.

in many ways u could argue pirates are a fundamental instrument to 1xtra's success. where else do they find out what's hot? not enough people check 1xtra to listen let alone check for trends!

But lol at u trying to start beef anyway

ok, i dont HATE them but they just annoy me trying to be the big shots of the media world, trying to take over everything. maybe they should just accept that they dont do some things as good as others

What I don't get is the fuss over BBC paying £8m for a bunch of films...

When it pays £30m a year in order to use the words repetoire of music for it's own programs. And that's standard procedure.

PS. Harry Potter sucked my dνck.

Alot of the pirates are going down because there main source of income (club adverts) has seriously slowed down, BBC don't lock off pirates, but major corporate radio networks to fund the DTI, ena'bling' them to lock off pirates, but $$$$ it, if pirate radio stations were smart, which alot are doing, they are focusing on online broadcasting, it's going to revolution worldwide pirate broadcasting once broadband becomes industry standard

What, in 5 years time? 99% of people would never tune into pirate radio over the internet, because believe it or not, your average listener finds the convinience of turning your radio on and being able to hear something straight away far greater than logging on the internet and going thru that malarky. It's complete bullsh.it that the internet will "revolutionise" pirate radio - all it will do is give it a smaller and different radio base, leaving those who actually listen in the cold.

    I don't like the 1xtra advert

Garage is NOT black music. Apart from purely advertising reasons, I don't see how they can get away with saying that.

ITS URBAN MUSIC NOT BLACK MUSIC FOR FUUCCKKSSS SSAAAKKEE!

LOL @ BBC paying off DTI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

As if that would ever ever ever ever happen. BBC ain't no gangsta firm, DTI would need MILLIONS and MILLIONS to be paid off.

True that recently a lot of events linked to pirate radio have been locked off though. And a lot of South stations have been hit.

2-Bob stations are getting hit, which is good. The less 2-Bob stations about, the better for the scene - anyone can get on radio nowadays, I've been appalled at the standard of mixing / chatting on some stations recently.

There was once a day when people would look up to you as a minor celeb if you were on a pirate - nowadays nobody would bat an eyelid.

So in my eyes big up 1xtra!
