Why the $$$$ do Garage entertainers run away from Garage when they get big??????????????

    Craig David!
    Ms Dynamite!
    So Solid!

The above 3 have done it. Craig David is the worst (no need to explain). Ms Dynamite and So Solid haven't FULLY left Garage yet, but it's getting there. However, if you ask them are they leaving the Garage scene, they'll probably say some $$$$ like, "Na man, I'm still there for my Garage peeps" or some $$$$.

Even $$$$ing Roll Deep are gonna do it soon. In that interview with Roll Deep, they were saying that the music they make isn't Garage, they're trying to invent some new $$$$.

On one hand, I know some of the UK Garage fans would prefer the music to be kept underground, but on the other hand the music won't get bigger than the UK (well, obviously you got Ayia Napa and that, but it's still UK ravers generally).

If it weren't for Garage, Craig David, Ms Dynamite and So Solid wouldn't be there - FACT!!!!!!!!!! So why are they on some next $$$$. What...is Garage the path for UK R&B/Hip-hop artists to get recognised? When Hip-hop artists in the US get big, they don't start trying to sing Opera or some $$$$, same as Dancehall artists in Jamaica.

I love Garage and I will stay true to it, although I listen to a lot of other genres...but it ain't getting any bigger because of certain people who have the keys in their hand, and are not trying the open the doors with it...

    G A R A G E F O R L I F E ! ! !

think about it - u listen to a lot of different music so do 'garage' artists. Garage is an earlier stating point for an artist then they get the chance to work with good producers of other genres. natural progression surely. also garage is a very small market im sure as an artist u need to think bigger - do u think dynamite would have much in the bank if she didnt do what she's doing?

and who cares...as long as whatever music they're making is good.

Thing is, garage doesn't sell. "Urban" sells at the moment, which means they take the urban garage stars and mould them into what they want the music to be sound like, using these "reputable" faces.

    It's all the same bull$$$$.

Plat blud. A lot of the ppl in the UKG scene came in cos it worked: UK RNB didnt "work". UK hiphop at the time didnt "work". Nuttin UK worked. UKG was the first UK genre in a long time to work. Thats prolly the reason its got so many influences. Cos everyone jumped on.

Look at misteeq: do an rnb track, sell half a CD, get a sunship remix, ur on fire, done.

To tell the truth, I dunno whats goin on this yr for UKG. I got locked out the scene by the 8bar/nuskool style change, so Im only loyal to pre 2000 ukg + other genres now, and I was a big anorak fan of ukg back in da day.

That's just a collection of all her garage tunes and remixes, I think.

There'll be no more garage from Ms Dynamite: she's going into politics, didn't you know?

    At least that'll be funny...

True. If Roll Deep decided to go "commercial" , likelyhood is they wouldn't be doing garage tracks after the first release... people would see it as "another so solid" or "another more fire" & wouldn't buy into it.

& because the artists want the money, I'm guessing they'll do whatever their label tells them to do so everyone gets their piece.

1 word: Money. There is no money in garage and with all the violence going on, you are not gonna get tunes played in the clubs, which broke these artists.

Garage was going long before these people came into it, and I think you know that too. What do you mean? You mean it wouldnt have got into the charts all thru 99/00/01? Well Tina Moore went into the charts in 1998? London Thing did dunno when. Choc Boy 1999/00? NnG, Creed, Dreem teem tunes, Colour Girl all hit the top 40, so what did u mean?

Craig David always prefered RnB to UKG & from what he says now you get the feeling he dont feel garage no more, if so you cant make music you dont feel.

Garage aint big no more, because none of the big boys and girls developed the sound enough, they just switched. I know it might not of been their first love, but they just dumped Garage like a bad cold. Garage in 1999 had big potential, it had 3 times more appeal than Drum and Bass, but still failed.
Enough propaganda fueled the end of Garage, nice and slow. This same propaganda, forced So Solid, Beddingfield, Dynamyte, and Craig David to sign 75% Rnb recording contracts. Looking at the scene now, they probably made the right decision..............or not, they could have kept up the fight.

I remember the days when listening to Garage was seen as cool and trendy, now it's kind of childish and embarrassing.

But I finish with this, it was once a great sound, and it will return an even better sound.
