UMA History
Founder of the UMA, Jordan Kensington describes the UMA as an award ceremony born out of a need to recognise the significant impact of the dance, urban & alternative music culture worldwide & celebrate the achievements of it's main players- DJ’s, artists, clubs & record labels.
It was also created with an emphasis on celebrating artists who have previously been / are currently underground spread across different genres from Dance to Urban. The awards are in direct support of the Warchild Charity (a charity which helps kids in countries affected by War) & will be used to bring much needed exposure to the Warchild charity on an international front.
