    The UKs $$$$$$$ genre

I HAD BIG POST AND TRY PRESS COPY AND IT DELETED $$$$ $$$$ $$$$ SO HERES THE GIST:

    > heard Choice FM playing new (former) so solid member RNB tune, nothing special, just "okay", (really synthy, break was standarly "ok", nuttin to write home about. The UK rapper on the verse was interesting: he started off with US accent, then it slowly went londonised, then he try rap offbeat which was a bit embarrasing for me to hear, even ).

    > also heard K2 family new hiphop tune. Again, ok, but it prolly wont be as big as "bouncing flow".

So you see? UKG is like the genre by which you can (try) get respect for ur RNB or hiphop in this country. WTF? The only reason Misteeq ('roll on' was dutty by the way, admit it) even have a record deal on which they can release RNB these days is because they did UKG FIRST! If they started off with RNB, you wouldnt have heard of them.

UK Garage holds all the bandwagoners while they wait to do what they wanted to originally (usually RNB or hiphop), meanwhile, leaving a path of destruction in their wake (ie poorly produced UKG tunes tryin to verge on the RNB/HH).

Why is UKG having so much pinned on it; everyone clingin on to it to get as close to the genre they prefer as possible.

Wiley blatantly wants to do hiphop, you can tell in his wannabe Timberland beats - now that hes screwed UKG, hes prolly got enuff ppl on his side to make an RNB track now.

Everyones milking the cow UKG before its dead.

Funnily enough, some of the best produced nuskool UKG Ive heard in 2002 is the B+Q advert.

You can't blame the artist all the time, its about the record labels.

'Why', which was Misteeq's first tune was actually an RNB tune first.
But it was Matt's mix that was smacking it up.
So they done a re-release, got that girl to do one of her annoying mc drops and bang, it was a hit.

You got to remember that last year garage was the hottest genre in the UK, so it got rinsed in a negative way.

The same people who are rinsing it are the same people that have fingers in other pies, so when they can't get anymore out of garage, they have plenty to turn to.

I don't blame outsiders alone either.
people in Garage allowed themselves to be used.

Instead of keepin thing underground, they took to the majors and the big clubs that were not put there for garage.

Now we are left with tunes sampling Only Fools and horses to represent UKG.

Well done to those who made their money and shiff, but remember"what goes around..............."

I think it would be a good thing if garage went back underground. There wouldnt be any room for people trying 2 make a quick penny and the music would therefore improve.

I knew garage would $$$$ up as soon as So Solid started releasing tunes. As soon as i heard lil 11 year olds bopping the roads thinking they knew about garage i could tell something bad would come of it. I dont blame so solid but it was juss a really good example.

Before garage started going commercial it really was the best genre to listen to.
