Is bloody good![]()
This is a discussion on !!tense Magazine!! within the Urban Music forums, part of the Popular Forums category; Is bloody good...
Most of it really, the Tim and Trevor Interview was good.
Also the Articles done by yourself and Toussaint D (if thats how you spell it)
I also think Wale Adeyemi's peice should be slightly bigger, i also found the article on the Adidas Bob Marley Tops helpful as ive been trying to find these for ages.
Overall a great magazine, i think Touch has competition now....
Miss C, where has the segment Augustus Rue used to do in Touch, i think that was him?? (dunno if you can answer that)
thanks 4 the feedback. I def learnt something about Westwood in that interview, the one I did with Toussaint Davy (editor, u did spell it right), emphasised a point I hope. the first page of it was mine, 2nd his.Originally posted by Blazey

I will pass over your comments fo' sure though. Feedbacks been great and given most of us came from Touch to do this, i'm sure they're going to hurt soon.
Augustoe Rue, I don't know what happened to him - did u like it? I loved it!
I think this is gonna be a great mag from what ive read, i think Touch is real weak now........
Augustus Rue was feccccccciing hillarious, i loved every article he done, Touch seems very watered down nowadays......
Also liked the Little Peice on JD, very pleasant guy indeed.......
What did you learn about Westwood then?? nice geezer, or ignorant punk??
Augustoe - people either loved him or hated him! I never knew who was behind it though, undercover business.
Who would you like to see in the mag/What would you like to see etc?
Make sure you fill in your surveys! B.I.G prizes!
Westwood, I'd never heard him talk about kids, marriage, girlfriends or the shooting etc... before. I got nothing but respect for Westwood. I doubt very much the likes of Em and 50 would be over here reppin' if it wasnt for his influence
I agree, loads of people hate on him, i seen him on his own outside a club in Bristol and just nodded my head as if to say "sup" he was like "yeaaah dawwg you cool" and started talking to me, a very nice guy.......
Definatley the BIGGEST urban music genre dj in Europe!
I dont really like Trevor Nelson tho, he seems quite arrogant when ive seen him about, maybe i just havent seen him without the DJ Ego.....
I dont really think there should be anything else in the magazine as its top dog allready, i hate buying Touch then putting it down after 30 mins thinking "damn i could of brought a tower buger meal for that £3 +"
I am looking for a website that is based around the Urban Culture (fashion, music etc etc) any suggestions??
westwood is our biggest export, he's got respect stateside not many UK dj's got that...
trevor is a nice guy, he just get's mobbed everywhere. I can imagine it's tiresome hence why he keeps low profile etc when hes out. he had to leave the tense launch party early too!
touch has lost its edge, standard.
as for websites with urban culture, I don't know of any, that's what we're trying to build towards on ukmusic.com now but obviously these things take time. If i find any will b sure to let u know!
(and yes, u do look like Sean Paul...you going this week to the gig?)
No i wish i could go, i cannot see the resemblence myself but the Yardie Cleaning girls we have in our office seem to think so......lol
Yeh i think this site has a LOT of potential definatley.........
What are your views on JD? you reckon he is the next "big thing"??
I liked ur articles, i didnt realise ur a journalist, i seen ur name and thought of ur little blonde cartoon avatar on the forum.........lol
I think as a producer yes, his beats are sick, but as a solo artist I think the markets saturated already and longevity is hardly likely (think i put something like that in the piece lol)
Yeh, i finished my journalism degree last year and was full time at touch til xmas, since then been pimping myself to a variety of publications but s'all good! Justin had definitely been the highlight! Glad you liked my contributions, although personally I think i've done better.
I look very slightly like my avatar if you catch me at a good time!
Oh ill check all my older copies of Touch and see what ya done
Also the comment bout JD, i do agree with you, and its a shame really cuz he seems like such a nice lad (lol, look at me saying lad, he is 5 years older than me)......
Will there be fashion articles etc etc on this site in future??
I was all over Touch last year baby ha ha. I enjoyed doing HLC cover story cause it was new angle, religion etc...but it's good to get feedback on my stuff so i'd like to know what of my stuff u like/don't like if that's cool.
JD was safe indeed. I think he's good as a performer and love the track but I just think it's the current market that's not good for him...but I could be totally wrong!
Would like to get some fashion articles up soon...what kind of thing do u want to read?
hmm just like the Wale Adeyemi article, a whats hot and whats not or urban fashion??
With me modelling the garmentsJK
Ive got loaaaaadsa ideas on what id like to read, i normally buy Touch, Deuce, Echoes, Voice (just for some articles).........
And i really do think Tense mashes dem up, ALL ah dem.....
And i also think this site can be the NO 1, standard!!
I enjoyed the HLC cover story!!! i kept on reading it over and over....... (i have a tendancy of keeping magazines for mooooonths and just reading over them again and again)
Ya a super journalist aint ya hun........BIG UP
Have u seen the front cover for the latest Source?? YUM YUM -lol-
Gwan ha ha! Ok, fashion is bloody hard work to get locked down but you've given me an idea where all the users can get involved - i'll email you and see what you think!
I'm like you with mags - you don't wanna see my stack it's large to say the least! Thanks for your support (the mag and me), don't know about super but I do try, always plenty of room for improvement!
I take it you're talking about Ashanti cover - didn't recognise her at first some mad photo shop business or what!
Im sure she could of been sponsored by Johnsons Baby Oil for that shoot!!........
One prob with american mags, ADVERTS!!
Its like a copy of LooT with music reviews and interviews.....
I buy the American mags to stay up to date etc...but they are actually $$$$...aside from the overdose of ad's i'm not always a huge fan of american writers, although I though Rob Kenner's article was quite good on UK Garage in Vibe. i normally only find two or three articles i wanna read...no humour...or creativity, UK are good for that.
Design wise they're not rockin' and i like crisp design.
Going to sound like i'm plugging, but i hadn't seen a lot of Tense til it came out and I genuinely wanted to read most of it
Ive read it from front to back and its class........
The Vibe article was very good, was it wrote by an American??
Also its amazing how the Source has shrunk in size?
XXL are wiping their arses on The Source. The issue with Em and 50 etc on the front is the first time they've out sold The Source but sign of the times!
I'm sure the guy who wrote the article is American, he came over here to do research apparently...i like the way he drew comparisons to American scenes etc but there were inaccuracies and the intro was out of touch - i mean 'he's referring to violence within UKG/it killing itself off but it started way b4 the shooting of those girls on NYE.
And i'd disagree strongly with the 10 most significant tunes in UKG. In fact I now feel a new thread coming on ha ha
I disagreed with the tracks aswell, lol..........
Gwan with your new thread hunny, thanks for sending the mails, ive now got something to Print Off to take home tonite![]()
don't watch any mistakes, Dizzee i sent you is uncorrected/unsubbed but hope u enjoy readin it with a glass of hot milk and a cookie b4 bed
