Default M.I.A. UK G Producers Post

Thought i would do a post like this to see if n e one knew what these great UK G producers are up to now.

Now we kno that :

MJ Cole is doing UK G

Sovereign is back making UK G

Dem 2 are back making UK G

Grant Nelson is doing House for now

Jez Slyvester is also doing House

TJ Cases is doing R'n'B

Lavonz is still doing UK G

Wookie is making an R'n'B LP but is still doing UK G

187 Lockdown are basically D'n'D, DNKY, Menta, M-Factor etc and do various styles of dance music.

Wideboy's are also doing wicked UK G still.

Zed Bias is still making UK G as well as Breaks.

Stanton Warriors are doing breakbeat.

K-Warren is doing various stuff but not UK G @ the mo'.

Sticky is still making UK G

Tuff Jam still do UK G stuff seperatley

EL-B still does his dark well made UK G

What about the rest of them ??

I've heard that .

Urban Myths / Strickly Dubs don't produce no more.

One of the Y-Tribe does R'n'B now.

And what's happened to Steve Gurley, Noodles (from the Groove Chroncials) Ed Case and Sunship ??

Can n e one add to this or kno n e more info ??

Basically to a point this was the UK G scene a few years back !!.

Noodles is still producing under the name Groove Chronicles and is re-pressing all their back cat slowly but surely

Noodles is still around eh ?? - hes not as good without EL-B tho' if his last few tracks are n e thing to go by.

Seen - i've never heard them Harley ??.

What were they called ??.

Good to see he's (Steve Gurley) still making them 2 Step beats - last i heard (in one of them magazines) he was working with Zed Bias and Zed also said that he's got some solo stuff coming soon.

The production situation isn't a problem you kno.

The reason UKG isn't a big commercially viable scene is cos there aren't any artists anymore. No songwriters or vocalists that can be pushed as a face of the scene. All we have are wannabe rappers who can't compete with the americans. That's why all you get on tv and radio all day is American music.

Them man ain't got no love for the scene. They're in it to be stars. Fair play if you wanna make different style music, pop and RnB and $$$$. But at least represent where you're from. you get me?
