As I am about to write this I'm struck with a dilemma, do I keep my feelings
aside and report this objectively, or do I use HitEmUp.com's power and
influence to try to possibly reach someone out there who has a say in these
things and make a difference?
"[Afeni] asked me to be on [Tupac's] next album and this is probably an
album that has more stuff on there about me and I was like, 'Cool.' Like I
said, he's not here to repair our relationship." - Jay Z
Jay Z has told MTV as well as radio station Hot 97 that he is on Tupac's
"next album" which we believe to mean he is on Better Dayz. Now I understand
some of you out there are fans, and that's cool, that's not the point, Pac's
legacy is the point. Personally, I don't like the man. Sure he makes some
good music, but in my opinion first he bit Notorious BIG, and now he has
moved on to biting 2Pac. From remaking Makaveli's classic "Me and My
Girlfriend", to reusing Pac lines throughout his latest album. Pac and Jay Z
had a beef. Jay CAN NOT say he squashed the beef like Nas says, because it
never happen. Pac died with a beef going on with Jay Z. You would think that
Pac's mother and so-called friends would respect that? Right? Right?!
Guess not. In an industry run by money, greed and who sells the most albums,
it seems Jay Z is now on Tupac's album Better Dayz. First Nas, now Jay Z.
Ok, so Nas squashed the beef, believe that or not, regardless that's another
article, another time. But Jay Z? No way he squashed it. No way.
So now we have what many insiders claim to be the rawest Tupac album since
Makaveli, full of diss tracks to Bad Boy, Nas, Jay Z and more, and what does
Afeni do? She puts both Nas and Jay Z on the album. What's next? A Puff
Daddy produced remake duet of "You Never Had a Friend Like Me" with Pac?
Pac was a man that lived and died for his beliefs. And in 1996, he believed
Jay Z was a [censored]. By putting Jay Z on an album that features diss songs to
the rapper, Afeni and Suge are spitting on Pac's legacy. You are spitting on
what the man was about by twisting his music to fit a money making scheme
you want! I do not give a damn who is selling the most right now, there's a
line you do not cross, you do not put Pac's enemies on his tracks. Half
these kids out there who will buy the album will have no idea the songs are
remixed, they will think Jay Z and Pac were cool.
Do the people in charge of Tupac's music have no morals? No conscience? None
of you are Tupac! Sure you may be his mother, friend, cousin, relative, but
you are not Tupac! You have no right to play with the man's music like this.
You have no right to squash his beefs for him. You are not him. Instead of
focusing on what will sell more units, and who will pay more to get on a Pac
track, focus on his legacy! The legacy he left us through his words! Do not
edit out those words. Swapping "Kurupt" for "Trick" is bad enough, what's
next? Pasting together Pac shouting out Jay Z from previous voice samples
taken from disses to Jay Z?
What is next? A Pac album with Puffy on it? Perhaps you want to mix Britney
Spears into a Pac track to sell even more units?
People say that we should be happy for what you are giving us, because
without you we would not be getting this new Tupac music. True. But what is
the price we, and Pac's legacy is paying for the new tracks? Personally I
think I have reached the point where I wish you would just let the man rest.
Let him rest with all his dignity and beliefs in tack, and yes, that means
his beefs to.
I urge Afeni, take Jay Z off! And quit [censored] up your sons legacy!
Personally I feel Afeni and Suge need to fix up. How can u put Pac's enemies on 2Pac albums. What kind of stupidness is that!!!
