    Default Filthy Dub Last Night

I think it's only fair I start this with an apology to everyone that attended last night (be it the peepz inside or the people that coudn't get in), apologies from all of the Filthy promoting team. I might as well give ya the full unedited story of last night:

Basically last night there were 2 cops fresh from the academy working their first big nights on the job (they were the ONLY cops in that area...what the $$$$?anyway). It was common knowledge apparently to all the club bosses around Croydon that they were looking for their first nicks (and guess what they got one, some of you may have witnessed this...I thought it was a little OTT...i'll come to that later). But anyway around half 11 the cops told the club boss of One92One he was a little concerned about the peepz all going into the club, que the bouncers getting over harsh on letting people in (but they were still letting people in in dribs and drabs). The peepz who run the club also said they didn't think it was a very good atmosphere downstairs (ie he thought it would have all kicked off) so this made them obviously worry more about the police etc. So anyway as it drew closer to 12 the cops got over prang about all the people waiting outside the club looking thugged out....again I personally didnt see anyone who looked like trouble makers or were acting threatening, people were just queing up! So they told the club they were callin the Licensing officer of Croydon Council down...he came down...told the club of his disapprovement of the clientel waiting outside, next thing you know the club lock the doors around 12 coz they got threatened with loosing their license. Anyway que the police arresting a 'certain' person and going well over the top, this in turn resulted in a full meat wagon coming down and the rave getting locked an hour early.

Now I can't personally blame the club boss coz he has to maintain his license, plus we have a really good relationship with him...however I do not believe the bouncers were right in their assessment that there was a bad atmosphere downstairs. The club management were clearly swayed by info they were receiving from their security.

Now I would just like to ask a few questions-
Was there a bad atmosphere downstairs? no
Were there any fights or incidents of bad attitude at the last filthy or last nights? no
Were the people outside conducting themselves in a normal fashion? yes
Is Croydon a $$$$ing $$$$ hole where they get prang if they see more than 2 black guys at any one time? yes
Were the bouncers wrong in their assessment of the vibe? yes
Are bouncers always wrong? hell yeah
Were the police officers working that night the main reason it got locked coz they're $$$$ing $$$$$ holes?
Do I even need to answer the last question?

Again apologies for last night...it clearly showed us Croydon just aint ready for our kind of night on that kind of scale. We will definitely be looking at other venues possibly in Brixton. Im really sorry all you guys that attended that didn't get to see Slimzee and NdoubleA. Apologies to all the people who travelled from far just to come to the night and all the peepz that were on the guestlist like some of Slims guests, who weren't allowed in. Last night made us as a promotion look like a bunch of assholes and it deprived you lot of an enjoyable nights bubbling....trust we will make amends...this aint the end of Filthy...its been a learning experience that will make future events bigger and better.

Yeh bwoy!, it's all about Ben Sherman, in Croydon.
Filthy, thankyou for clearing that mess up, it's a pity to see bull s h i t, is still about in town centres.

I swear things in London are just s h i te, it's the same dead rnb and hip hop nights that exist.

I was looking foward to Filthy Dub, but was let down because of foolish people with power.

You might have to make the next one, Shoes and shirts. I say this because the venue look upmarket from outside.

Brixton would be much better than Croydon. Somewhere like Plan B.

If you ask me, Croydon needs Filthy Dub, there is obviously a market, and plenty of punters, who start their weekend on a Thursday.

    Over Vex

At about 11:30ish, I must have got about 20 to 25 calls from people who were outside and saying they couldn't get in. The bouncers were talking $$$$ one minute saying that it's FULL so they aint letting nobody in and the nex minute saying that there's about 50 people down there so they're locking it off? At this time the turnout was doing fine and if everything had run smoothly it would have got ram.

All that 'thuggish' talk is some of the most bull$$$$ I've heard all year, Go to the cheese clubs around there and you would have seen more 'thugz'.

When Hatcha came on things were nice inside and people were skanking and bubbling even though there should have been even more people inside. About half way through Hatchas set I hear Skreams just been arrested and I thought it was a joke until 10 seconds later people outside are ringing me, saying how the police took the $$$$ing piss kneeing him in his back and $$$$ to the point that anonymous people driving past were stopping and telling the feds to cool down. This was all they needed to make make the council or whoever lock it.

When I went to find out why Skream got kicked out in the first place I couldn't get a straight awnser. The feds ended up shifting him for being drunk and disorderly, (the oldest trick in the book for police) so why is it that when the doctor saw him 2 hours later he said that he's straight sober.

Anyway big the all Promotion team who worked $$$$ing non stop to put this event on and then get bumped HARD on the night. There was nothing they could do and tried as much as possible to sort out everything The Club, Police and Council tried to throw at dem.

Also big up everyone who come from all over London and didnt get in or got in for a stupid amount of time.

I couldnt believe it. Everyone was lovin hatchas set just about everyone was movin. They pulled the plug just as it was at its peak and it would have got better aswell.

Even though this happened i still believe the night has loads of potential.

    Fight on!!!!

The Night has nuff potential and I hope last night's events which were out of our hands wont deter the raving massive who appreciate what Filthy brings to the scene.

We'll be planning some small events in the near future to help get funds back to normal then we'll cement something big.

PHTTTtt!!!!! Your jokin mate, its just as bad if not worse then Croydon. If you go to a pub in bromley i guarentee the oldest women in there is 15. The clubs just want old school / vocals. And i wont mention the club which this happened but they nearly hung me coz i played Wise up and a menta track.

I will tell you where this music needs to be played and thats at student unions, the promoters of fWD/ Filthy D should arrange a tour that goes around to all the big unis. Peopl at colleges tend to have open minds and broader tastes. Plus everyone tends to know eachother so there is no beef.

    What do you recon?

Then slowly but surely the sound is getting heard in more places.
