personally it aint about his productions - although charge is a dark label

its the mampi deck technique - arguably better than andrew c - he does drop some sick blends and its his ruffneck style - keeps the masses on their toes for real.

    unsung hero of the raves.

it's possible that this is another 'Swift'. Zinc used to produce with someone who was called 'Swift' in the early days (Brain records) and this Swift released on Subbase too. But on the other hand 'Analog' on Subbase was by 'Mampi Swift'.

    Like 'Analog' and 'Load' most.

they are not! the other 'Swift' isn't into D'n'B anymore - but there was an interview in ATM (must have been around 97/98) where they ask Mampi if he did the stuff with Zinc and he said: no it's another 'Swift'.

That's why he called himself 'Mampi' Swift - to show the difference.

it's really confusing I know. the other Swift never showed himself - maybe only Zinc knows who this guy is. Zinc & Swift produced several tunes for Bizzy B's labels (Brain, Brain Progression I think) and 1 or 2 12" for Suburban Base.

There is another Swift, but I didn't think he did DnB. There's a hip hop dj called Swift. There used to be one who played hardcore (I think), but I assumed that was Mampi. Either way, Mampi is the don, and the rest can evacuate the premises.

The 1 is one of the ALL TIME classics. Some of his other tunes are a bit dodge, but his mixing is second to none.

On and On IS by Mampi Swift.

I know of Swift and Zinc also but I can assure you this is Mampi.

Swift as far as I know became a garage producer (Under a dif name??)

EGYPTIAN LOVER & his new ep on charge are quite strange

But him & Andy C are the top-dons out there!

I always liked The One (obviously) and Hi Tek (although I never felt the production for some reason, I still went mad to the tune)...

    DUN! DUN DUN DUN DUN!

Think they both came out on the Charge lable. Infact I'm 100%.

Really haven't kept up to date though for the best part of about four years.

I'll give you my whole record collection if they are the same. I remember the ATM article too. Also SEX CREW backed up this fact - so don't start any rumours again.

Don't like Mampi's tunes but he's the ruler on the decks besides Andy C like Mercury said.

my fav mampi tune at the mo would have to be clockwork on his new depthcharge ep, the flipside is f**king crazy, bodyrock style, weird stuff from mr swift, but of all time it would probably have to be either the one or trippin'
