Default Winterville

I love rock music and have had many 'rock heroes' over the years. I picked up on a new band about 6 months back, and thought they were terrific, and have kept an eye on them ever since, and I have seen them go from practically 'unknown' to recently getting great reviews for their debut album which was released recently. So as my first post on this board I wanted to share my delight in having 'discovered' Winterville.

Check them out here

Their last single went briefly into the Top 40 UK Rock Chart (with very little promotion or airplay) and their debut album 'Everything in Moderation' is getting some great reviews.

They are a great Rock Band. I love them!!

Cheers Biffo11

PS Quotes from Classic Rock magazine (december) about the album:

"The Darkness may have delivered the album of the year, but this lot (Winterville) aren't far behind".

"quality rock vocalist"

"insidiously catchy chorus of My Angels"

"Everything In Moderation is the sort of record that feels like an old friend after just the second listen, it's that good" - 8/10 Sian Llewellyn (Classic Rock editor)

PPS
In the January edition of Classic Rock magazine, they have listed their Top 50 Albums of 2005.

Winterville's 'Everything in Moderation' is at number 23!!!!!

Yes!! In front of Alice Cooper, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Idol, Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Mars Volta, Thunder and even Deep Purple.....

The 'blurb' (with a picture of the Album sleeve) says:

'Quite brilliant rock debut from the north of England. The band are led by seriously talented 22-year-old vocalist/guitarist Peter Shoulder and Everything in Moderation combines the bluesy bluster of early Free with definite shades of grunge introspection.

In the February edition of Classic Rock magazine, a Winterville track ('Breathe') is included on the free CD on the cover. The CD is highlighting bands to watch out for in 2006.

Looks like it could be a great year coming up for Winterville.

Well, that's my tip for the future, I am off now to read the other threads on this great board....
