Default White Stripes or The Raconteurs

Who do you think is better White Stripes or The Raconteurs? I prefer the White Stripes but I do like listen to The Raconteurs every now and then. The Raconteurs are actually being featured on the backstage pass. Here is the link if anyone is interested: interview

the racontuers album is excellent. only 32 minutes long but every track is worth a listen, no skipping required.

Any body like The Cribs?

White Stripes I'd take over the Raconteurs - Jack White's better suited to a raw stripped-down kind of band. I am *so* looking forward to the new album - going to Wireless festival in Leeds this summer to watch the Stripes play - its their only gig of the summer in the UK!

Agree...

White Stripes. They were more original and sound awesome. They are also great live. Didn't know they were doing the wireless....

Of course Jack White is more of a White Stripe than a Raconteur. His brilliance as an artist is immense. Steady As She Goes is nice though.

White Stripes are Awesomeness incarnate!

The Raconteurs are good too and I have their debut album but, they just seem a bit 'normal'.
I'm currently listening to the 'Icky Thump' album by the White Stripes and yep, it is increadible. A little difficult at first to accept the evolution exposed in the title track but apart from that (and "St Andrew") it is really quite a recapitulation of their earlier works though, it would appear Jack is moving towards an even more minimalist approach whilst also moving more towards progressive.
The final track is awesome too.
Though in my opinion, I think that De Stijl is the greatest White Stripes album and their live recording of 'Screwdriver" on the EP "Walking with a Ghost" is most increadible.
