Default Is Punk Music Dead?

Is punk music dead? This forum doesn't even give it a section. Is punk a thing of the past like skiffle?
Or is it now just called rock?
Will we ever see another pistols come about or shall we resign ourselves to the fact that punk is no more?

No.
There is no such thing as a dead genre. Punk is still around even in todays teenage ridden pop rock/punk. You just have to know were to look for it. Last.fm is a good place to find new music if you haven't discovered it already.

its dead in the sense that theres no particular "leaders" of the genre. the title "punk" has been so washed out with all the emo/pop-punk bands that refer to themselves as punk music. there will always be bands out there making real punk music though.
