You need the school boy rock bands to bring the public to the scene. It supports the smaller bands indirectly. People think ooh, they sound good, wonder what else is in this genre etc ....

Aren't the 'school boy bands' more pop than rock?!

Man rock has been round for donkeys years and it will stay. They are killing some bits of rock but there are so many parts to it (like a big ugly frankenstein with BIG hair!) bits go in and out of fashion. It would be cool to see boy bands go out of fashion though

I'm kinda at odds here. I love rock music, it was the first genre of music that I really got into. But the newer rock bands just don't interest me in the slightest, they don't seem to be that imaginative with their music... maybe my tastes have just broadened and changed over the years.

But I don't think rock is dead, I think that every genre is going to (has it's) have it's lows as well as it's highs.

Well said. I'm with you on that one.

Besides, if we all listened to the same music, what a boring world it would be!
