thumbs up Cornwall welcomes Carl Palmer (ELP)

CORNWALLS NEWEST PURPOSE BUILT THEATRE ANNOUNCES MAJOR DATE:
Cornwall’s newest Theatre, The Keay at St Austell, has been working very hard and has just announced that it has secure a mammoth show by one of the worlds most prestigious and well known musicians.
On tour to celebrate 30 years of Emerson Lake and Palmer (ELP), Carl Palmer is, of course, the powerhouse drummer and, one third of Emerson, Lake and Palmer – one of the world’s biggest Progressive Rock acts of the 70’s. A prodigiously gifted musician with an incredible album sale record of some 40 million copies. Palmer may also be remembered by many as having been a member of Atomic Rooster and the Crazy World of Arthur Brown.

A renowned showman and musician of the highest order, Palmer has entertained fans and crowds for generations and left an indelible mark on the music world. With no sign of his ever slowing down critics have always said “the best is yet to come for Carl Palmer” here it is live and fans will be ever the richer for it.

Purely guitar driven, this band put a new face on such tracks as “Toccata”, “Hoedown” and Fanfare For The Common Man” (complete with drum solo) and perform them with dizzying complexity and an energy perhaps not heard since the earliest days of ELP. If you like instrumental virtuosity then this will sit well with you.

With full support from Cornish band ELECTRUM – a blistering set of instrumental funk.
This 2hr show takes place on Saturday 5th November and more information can be obtained by telephoning 01726 226777
