Default bands, acts and artists required, invited and desired. etc.

Hello all, hopefully this is the right section.

Here at Broken Tail Records we are celebrating the success of our debut release. But not with cups of tea or pats on the back. OH NO! We’re doing it with a search for the best new music.

We know there are some brilliant acts out there, we’ve seen some of them, and we want to put the four most incredible ones onto a split EP this summer and unleash them onto an unsuspecting public. We have several acts in mind already, but it would be decidedly remiss of us not to open up our inbox to submissions from the general public, and so here is how it works…

------------
We love hearing new music, so please send your new music in mp3 format to our special submissions e-mail address, which can be found by heading to the blog on http://www.myspace.com/brokentailrecords - we’d list it here, but we’re afraid of being inundated with people trying to sell Viagra (what have you heard, by the way?).

Oh, if you’re going to submit stuff, you have to own the copyright; don’t go submitting the new Bloc Party song - that would be silly. Please limit your mp3s to either 160/192kbps and only send one. We regret that postal submissions can’t be accepted.

The deadline for all this is March 12th, otherwise we could be here forever.

We’re looking primarily for rock, indie, folk, hip-hop, blues, country, electronica and associated genres. It’s not that we think other genres are bad, we just have trouble telling whether other songs are good or not.
------------

IMPORTANT: this will not be one of those fairly awful compilation jobs where you have to pay for 50% of the entire pressing, we send you 30 CD-Rs and then run off cackling to the bank, or maybe to Brazil. OH NO! Broken Tail Records likes to break even, but it’s a not-for-profit organisation. If you can help us out, that’s lovely, but if not we’ll cover our own costs.

So yes, indeed, get in touch or something. Let the games begin!
