Default Your Help Is Needed

I've finally made the upgrade from fruity to cubase and starting to get to grips with the fundamentals and knockin out tunes but ive encountered a few problems.

in my tune especially near the end were i have my bassline and beats rolling there seems to be random popping and clicking in my track which is very annoying, i dont understand this as all my samples are clean from any distortion. how would i be able to prevent this?

thx

It sounds to me like it's either your sound card or distortion from your internal mixer in cubase. You cant just turn volumes up and up as much as you want. Check your master fader and if it's clipping in the red then that might be it. Just turn down some of your faders to prevent it happening.

Latency is often affected by other programs running, close everything else and dedicate all the computer time to Cubase, should solve your problem. Alternatively go to audio setup and change the audio driver to the one with the lowest latency, depending on your sound card.

where does he speak of latency? or did i miss somthing, he seems to be asking about the audio signal he is getting from his soundcard which seems to me like a standard digital clipping problem.

Sorry misread I just flicked thru it, saw audio problems and assumed.

Close all programs anyway and it should stop it.

Try the forums on this site

http://www.cubase.net

It could be a problem with your soundcard or PC motherboard.

also if your not getting digital clipping but you still hear pops you might have truncated your samples incorrectly - if they don start and end on the zero then they'll click and pop .. make sure you're going in close ...
