Default What's Best?

Look, I wanna make sum music, especially a mash-up dubplate tune. Everyone seems to be suggesting that I use different software on my PC, but which one is actually the best? Bearing in my mind that I am pretty much a complete beginner!

Sonic Foundry 'Acid' (Pro/Music/DJ)
Sonic Foundry 'Sound Forge'
Sonic Foundry 'Vegas'
Logic

...or any others...?

Thank you

E-Jay is easy to use to make these, also Fruity Loops, Just takes time and patience, and then Its £25 to get the plate pressed aswell, so It's an expensive hobby

I'm well up for it though Big P. I thought you were up for it too weren't you? I had a look at your profile. You still got the bug for doing some production? I have...

'Reason' is a good program to use, but if your a beginner your better off using fruity loops 3 and something like sound forge to put ya samples through!!!!!

Get reason 4 startin out mate.. It's just like a more producer friendly version of music 4 da playstation.. also, when u feel reason has hit a point where u just can't go 2 dat nx level of producin, u can get a copy of logic or cubase or sonar n run reason nx 2 it if u wanna like use da sounds etc.

Best 2 try out some demos 1st mate cos u want a programme dat works with ur style of workin or u'll just spend days tryin 2 make a beat when normally it would take 5mins u get me

Sound forge is good to start to learn how to record---great not a bad prog. for 60. bones
Acid pro well another not bad prog. for taking your already goten samples and griding them (yes acid has grids)
Vegas is moreof a video and sound program if you are into that sort of thing it is also good as starting tool.

Reason...well let me say...oli la it's the qwan baby if you can use it right

Ez Ty

I downloaded Acid Pro the other day, but there was an error when I tried to install it.

Does anyone have a link for a download of this that actually works?

lol.. there all diff types of program for diff types on audio engineering. u cant really make a 'mashup dubplate' on reason, thats not what its for. you should use programs like soundforge - wavelab - acid for that sort of production. making a 'mashup dubplate' is more a case of just recording bars and loops of other tunes of vynil onto your pc into the program (soundforge) and cutting pasting and eidting audio over it.

hope that helps. ps u need the right leads to go from ur mixer into ur pc!

all this dubplate stuff has been done b4 tho surely. everyone seems to be getting onto it now paug (slimzee) did it first and that was effective but now in my opinion its just a way of playing all ur bomb tracks all at once and ruining the rest of ur set?

anyway good luck!
