Reason and Logic are totaly different things, but the first thing I would say is that if you are using a PC, don't get logic. PC support will soon end and you will get no updates.

Reason is a collection of virtual instruments (drum machine, sampler, synth and loop player) along with an integral mixer and effects.

Logic is a MIDI and audio sequencer. It features far more complex MIDI sequencing and of course audio recording, which reason doesn't have.

Personally recommend to go for logic or another audio sequencer. Reason is more of useful additional piece of software. It will be far easier to use your triton with logic etc. and ultimately logic is a more professional piece of gear. Get reason when you have more dosh.

Once you've got the triton, the best way to get the most out of it is with a good sequencer - Logic/Cubase would be decent...

Reason can't control external synths (at least I don't believe it really can) and is best used by itself or ReWired to Cubase

Have fun!

well, as Apple bought Logic and has absolutely no plans to support or produce products for the PC in the forseeable future...you do the math.

If you're going to go out an buy software, go with something that has a lifespan for your machine...

I would imagine that cubase will go all out on the PC now and become the standard for that platform, so that might be the best option.
