Default VST guitars?

does anyone know of any good ones?

i'm gettin sick of the two synths that fruity has for guitars and am lookin for a latin style guitar synth. and yes, i can't be arsed to record a guitarist on my mic.

oh yer, freer is better!

any advice?

there is NO way in hell you'll get a convincing latin guitar sound out of a synth. its not going to happen.

recording it yourself is your best bet. use a dynamic mic (cos aucoustic guitars have high freqs that you dont want to lose) and place the mike halfway between the 12th fret and the sound hole and try experimenting with agnles. dont eq until the end cos you can maximise the tonal quality that you want from the placement of the mic. i just got a great samba guitar sample by recording it meself - dont be lazy - the results will be so much more pleasing than trying to synth a latin guitar sound.

Why would you use a dynamic mic if you didn't want to lose high frequencies, surely a condenser mic would be better?? I find that an AKG C-414 on a figure of 8 pattern is lovely on acoustic guitars.

if its not for commercial release you could try sampling. if you are planning on releasing this though i wouldn't try this though as if you are caught you'll lose 100% publishing and basically won't make lucci on the toon. if you are planning on releasing it (or have a realistic hope of getting it signed) id find someone who can play a gut string and record them.
