I'm building mine at the moment, the ceiling went in yesterday and we're angling all the walls today. I'll post pics when it's ready.......

Fat Zed, your crew aint playing around, talk about made to measure. I also see you have gone for the detached residence,in the middle of no where, so you can 'tump it down with bass', wise decision.

It aint detatched, it's got an industrial cleaning depot next to it, but never go too loud for too long; my ears are my living and I don't want them to die!!!

The design of it helps a lot with noise spill, the entire inner frame is suspended from the brickwork on neoprene foam so that low frequency vibration transfer is minimised. All walls are brick-insulation-breezeblock-acoustic board-plasterboard-plasterboard-skim
this should stop it!!!!

Low frequency bass is dangerous, you cant hear it in a room, but if you step outside you can hear lowest of bass rumbles.

That depends on how and where you place you speakers. If you use good stands with the right materials underneath and a concrete block, they don't transmit sound to the rooms walls and floor.

A guy I know installed a set of speakers in Brian Mays house (the guitarist from queen), they were soffit mounted (installed in the walls). You got no bass in the control room, but the entire house shuddered!!

One thing often overlooked is the amount of bass you monitor with. People often think that if they use loads of bass on their monitors, there music will be bassy, but the opposite is true. Bassy monitors will end up with you not adding as much bass as you might have with a less bassy pair.

Sigh. Now I'm incredibly jealous of all you studio boys - I'd put up pics of my rack, but it'd be pathetic in comparison

I have rack envy.

lol

You won't be that impressed with mine then when it's finished, Sen. I don't have much rack gear, mainly preamps and patchbays.
