Default Speed Garage BASS????

Now that I have Finally figured out my sampler....Now I've beeen FIGURING OUT MY sYNTH (Roland JP-8080)

I've been tryin to make a cool speed garage bassline (a la 187 lockdown)

wit no luck

any suggestions??

do you mean the dred bass sound? I think they used that on the 187 lockdown stuff..

Dred bass can be approximated with an 808 style sub bass, light distortion, and reversed. So if you wanna do that on your synth, i'd say its all in the envelopes - ie slow attack and very quick release..

That whole bass sound is quite 'large' sounding, so you could always add some reverb after the distortion stage, but it could be useful to put a highpass filter over the reverb bus so you dont get any nasty phase $$$$.

well whenever i want them kinda sounds i make a stabbing kinda bass then reverse it.usually does the trick.if not you could always sample it

use a $$$$ pulse x bass, sure its crap and probably only got its "distort" because they used the wrong PS2 cables, but it will blow up in a rave!

You could also add a little attack just to get that real warping sound.

Any decent software capable of creating similar sounds?
