Default Sonar

Anyone use Sonar as their main sequencer??

VST is just not use friendly enough... I've been using a old version of Cakewalk for ages, but I'm getting Sonar soon.

Paul, I'd hate to see you with Logic if you don't think Cubase is user friendly enough...maybe the PC version is odd...I just played with SX for an afternoon and found it a bit different from the Mac version, but not too too unfriendly.

Talk nicely to it. Maybe that'll work.

I've not used Sonar...but I hear okay things about it.

I was a big Cakewalk Pro Audio fan for ages but never got to upgrade to Sonar because I switched to Steinberg products. If you are familiar with Cakewalk products, upgrading to Sonar is best for you to get you moving along quickly. Re-learning another sequencer will eat up valuable time and your main goal is to make music NOW! Nothing wrong with Sonar really (I tried it on a friend's PC) and it is basically the same as the Pro Audio series except for a new layout, GUI and other features. Those "other features" are powerful enuff to compare it with any other sequencer. And Cakewalk products has a reputation for being STABLE (so much I can say about Steinberg products).
Sequencer software are just tools. Your familiarity with your tools can generate a lot of productivity. So go ahead, upgrade to Sonar and go make those tracks!
On a side note, i've been using Nuendo for 2 years now and my familiarity with the app made my transition to SX very easy. SX is basically Nuendo with souped-up midi features. I find it quite easy but can get lost with all the cryptic iconish GUI. I'm waiting for Nuendo 2.0 which is rumored to sport a whole new VST engine (ASIO 3.0?). This rumor had all Nuendo users wetting their panties!!!

Maybe....

I'm a little out of my mind as I am about to become a papa (little p) soon (two weeks til full term) and we've been getting the place ready for the new one - reconstructing two bedrooms - so when things settle down in a few weeks, I'll get back with you...

cool?
