Fat zed wouldn't touch a soft synth if it came up and rubbed him all over...

Me on the other hand, I'm the pimp-daddy of the soft synth.

There's tons of softsynths out there...and you can make a bassline from any synth if you know the techniques. Grab a synth and start twiddling those knobs.

If a soft synth is what you've got then that'll have to do. For garage you only really want the fundamental frequency and the first couple of harmonics, so keep filter cut off frequencies low. Try to use frequencies between 50 and 80 Hz, as this is where the bass bins work their magic.

Dusk and KC both played out my acetate last night and the minimoog bass totally rinsed it. The dirtiness of that sort of synth gives the edge in a club. It even got the first rewind of the night. Time to release it I think......

Nice one...told you the ripsaw bass kicked it and I was only listening to it in mp3 on my Tannoys...I can only imagine how it would have dominated a big rig

Good job!
