could some 1 who has done this b4 PLEASE Xplain 2 me the whole process from the master i can provide 2 the vynal being in my hand....id b very gratful....i know dat process of dub cuttin, dats clear just wana know what i need 2 do 2 my master mayb b4 it goes on vynal...

errm so from my master 2 the vynal

oh yeah could u also like put in ur tips n tricks for when u pressed up, like dont make the bass 2 heavy coz of da groves n stuff, all dat sorta thing....

id b very grateful

and btw this is OUTRAYGEOUS not my younger bro DOES IT MATTER

Most pressing plants will do you mastering for you. They'll use multiband dynamics processing and certain spectrtal processes to get every last dB out of your track and balanc it out.

It's a very critical process and unless you are pretty good at it and have very good monitor speakers I wouldn't try it youtself. You could easily do more harm than good if you misuse these process or use substandard ones.

The best way to do it is to use a specialist mastering studio, but these charge around £100/hr. Having said that, they don't take that long to do the work.

Anyone no roughly how much a record shop will pay for each record you sell them, say they like the tune but it's not known well. e.g 50 records * £3.00 each , just a rough idea would do, so I can work out a break even point.

cheers boss, but is proper mastering really nessecary? tru i want my track 2 sound loud and not like a home made job but i really cant be spending A 100 buck 2 master a tune and considering im lookin 2 put out an ep as a 1st track its gona get well xpensive

Breaker, you could always work out a consignment deal, where you set the price, the shop gets a cut and that way, there's no risk for them...they may be more willing to do that than to buy them outright...

You, however, risk not making money back - the wholesale idea would get you cash in hand.
