    Need help please!!!

I need 2 questions answering please....

    1) What studio set up would I need If i wanted to create dance and trance music? I would not need/use mics for guitar or vocals but i would use a midi keyboard/microkorg.

    2) What would I buy if i wanted to connect a microkorg, pc and tascam portastudio up to studio speakers all at the same time? Im thinking i need some sort of audio mixer with more than one inputs for korg etc. and just 2 outputs for speakers? What would i need?

    Thanks, much appreciated....

I suggest buying Cubase (you will grow into it), also check out Ableton Live, they work kind of differently but see what takes your fancy.

You require a small mixing console with inputs for your pc and other gear.

You do not mention if your portastudio is playing back or recording the result.

You would better off recording back into your pc IMO.

I think you had better read up a bit online, the scope of answers for your questions are huge.

    cheers

    Cheers,
The portastudio is something I use for recording brass instruments, it would have nothing to do with the dance music, i just wanted it to be playing back out of the speakers...
    Thanks again

    BEHRINGER: MX882

Would this be suitable? It has 8 inputs and 2 outputs and it can be splitted....
If i bought 6.3mm to XLR cables to connect my korg and my pc etc. to it, would that work?

If all you need to do is mix 3 x stereo signals together that would do the job.
The rack mount has mono inputs only, so you will need to match the L/R channel up.

If rackmount portability is not an issue for you you might want to consider a mixer like this
which has more flexibility, eq, etc. though either will mix 3 stereo signals.

This has 2 x dedicated stereo inputs so you won;t need to balance L/R they will be on 1 fdaer each, and then the 3rd source (if stereo will be on 2 x mono inputs, like the other mixer, but at least they are on faders.)

Behringer XENYX X1204USB 12-Channel Mixer with USB Audio Interface | DV247

and at the lowest possible cost, this will also mix 3 stereo signals:

Just so you know the Behringer stuff is a bit hit and miss quality wise, though it's cheap in price.

What if i was to get this.......
    BEHRINGER: RX1602

Surely I plug could plug in my equipment into the inputs and my speakers into the main outputs?

For example if i plugged in several keyboards into the inputs, and speakers into the main outputs, would all the keyboards' sounds come out of the speakers all at once?
