Mixer to PC HElp!!!!!!!

dipeshmak Registered User Join Date: Dec 2004 Posts: 1	Mixer to PC HElp!!!!!!! I'm trying to record live mixes i do from my deck & mixers, straight to my laptop, but my laptop only has a mic input, and picks up a lot of background noise, i've tried turning down the record volume but this does not leave me with much room for monitoring, help??????

This is what i do - however - the man only has his laptop and the poor input options on the soundcard which came with it. Bastidos solution is a good one, whilst also a fairly decent external soundcard will not set you back too much.

Tempo Moderator Join Date: Apr 2002 Posts: 2,612	you can get the soundblaster card for laptops that goes in the PCMCIA card slot. this has cables dangling from it (lol) that you can plug a 3.5mm jack into. Prob a bit expensive though for what you want it for. You other option is an external soundcard like the creative Live! card.
