major cubase problem

when i record audio into cubase from the mic in the mic input it sounds all distorted.it aint that normal kinda distortion tho its some weird distortion that just messes with the sound a bit.can anyone help me work this out??????

How you are pluging in your mic to your comp with have an effect on your final sound..

From what you said it seems that there is too much level coming from the mic into you computer, Maybe you should try put a pad on it or just reducing the level @ which you record you volcal @

ive tried reducing levels and all sorts but it just dont wanna work it still distorts in the same way
